Sorry we did not write last night.  Yesterday definitely needs some explanation.  Jordan truly played the best golf of her life.  She was making putts from 15 feet, her decision making was almost flawless, her partnership with Caddy Brad is clicking on all cylinders.  She was loose and easy, calm and thoughtful.  She had a process that she employed before each and every shot, she took her time and was poised and controlled.  She truly made no mistakes and was solidly in 9th place at -1 with 5 holes left to play. 

On the second to last hole she rushed her putt from 3.5 feet and missed creating her only 3 putt of the day bringing her to even and tied for 22nd with a single hole to play.  On 18,  from 95 yards hitting into the island green surrounded on 3 sides by water, she came up short and went swimming.  So, 2 in, 3 out, hitting 4.  Her shot was not just good, it was extraordinary.  She hit the flag stick about 3.5 feet from the bottom and the ball dropped down almost into the hole but instead hit the lip which sent it back into the stick, ricocheted back in the direction it had come from and rolled all of the way off into the drink.  The crowd was stunned.  She then had to hit again, this being 6 and it landed and rolled 10 feet to the side and finally stopped because of the collar.  She then made a truly brilliant putt to end it, carding a great 7 (I know, there is no such thing) and ending the day at +4 tied for 80th place.  Interestingly, according to both Caddy Brad and Jeff Balzer this was the same hole that Tiger carded a 9 on his way to winning the championship.

Currently it looks like the cut is +2 but yesterday afternoon was 30 degrees hotter than the morning and the scores showed it.  Afternoon players shot much higher than morning ones.  We will see if that holds today.  T time is at 9:36.   It is going to be a nail biter but that is what she seems to like to do to us. It does not matter if she finishes at 1 or 64, she just has to make the cut. After that, everyone is basically at zero. Match play is a totally different game. Seldom does the top scorer of stroke play actually go on to win the championship.
