Over three days Jordan carded 71-75-72 with only a single double bogey, nine bogeys, 35 pars, and 9 🐥’s over the 54 hole tournament. Putting was decent according to SuperMom with difficult very wet hot and buggy conditions. This was a very good first summer showing after what was probably her longest stretch without a tournament in 5 years. This tournament is part of what is called “The Elite Amateur Series.” Jordan was hoping to be exempted into at least one of the 4 that take place over the summer without having to play a qualifier….She has been admitted to all of them that have so far published their rosters. Her dance card is filling very quickly.

Jordan is currently on an airplane headed back to NY after arriving in Orlando last night where SuperMom unpacked her from the tournament after driving her back from Georgia, did all of laundry, and re-packed her into a couple of suitcases the size of steamer trunks for the journey back to Bedford. She will spend the next week practicing at RockRimmon before flying to Phoenix a week from today where she will compete in The Southwestern, another of the Elite Amateur Series at The Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale. On Sunday before she gets started she will visit with her “FairyGodparents” Steve and SJ Meisel. B has not seen Steve in almost 10 years. It promises to be a very special day for all. She will spend some time at their club doing some practice and loosening up giving Steve a chance to watch her which will be a first for him. He is one of her biggest fans and an avid reader and commenter of this blog.
It will be a bit warm there
We have received a number of questions surrounding Jordan’s putter fitting from last week in Illinois at Bettinardi. Basically, it is exactly what it sounds like. With the aid of lots of measuring equipment and instruction from Coach Carl Rabito, they create a putter that best suits the way B putts. It was about 90 minutes long and in the end she left with a tool that optimizes her putting stroke. The assistant coach from Notre Dame Brad drove 4 hours round trip to both witness the fitting and then spent two hours watching Carl work with The B to understand what they are working on.
