Jordan’s last month has been insane. Here is the time line for reference…..On April 26th she and Coach Carl along with dad and his close buddy Scott “Scooterpie”Frey flew from South Bend to Missouri so Jordan could get a look at the course where two days later she would attempt to earn a spot in the US Open. Because it was the final week before exams, they had to fly back to South Bend on Sunday night so B could go to school on Monday. On Monday night she and dad flew back to Missouri where they spent the night and the following morning she played 36 holes back to back, 32,000 steps in the qualifier. She would finish in the middle of the field where almost half of the 80 contestants were seasoned tour pros looking for a spot. Only the top 2 earned spots so The Open will be without Jordan once again. On round two Jordan gave dad the thrill of his life when she invited him to “Go drop your backpack in the car and work my bag.” Let’s just say he was no uncle David but he loved every minute.

Note the horror on B’s face as she prepares dad to be on her bag vs. the true bliss on his
Ok, back to the timeline…After the conclusion of the qual, they flew back to South Bend so Jordan could attend school on Wednesday. A week later, May 6th, dad flew back to Chicago, picked up a rental mini van and arrived back in South Bend Bend at 2am Thursday morning. After Jordan’s last exam at 230pm she and dad drove back to Pound Ridge arriving at quarter to three on Friday morning. After a quick sleep they unpacked the car and headed for the airport where they took a 3pm flight back to Orlando arriving home at 7pm. 11 hours later they would board a flight to Bonaire where they would have 8 days of wonderful relaxation, Kayaking, Foiling, scuba diving and sailing. Jordan returned to Orlando on Sunday May 17th where she and Papa had dinner with Grama Jerie and Aunt Sara before returning to Orlando on the Brightline that evening. Jordan spent the next 5 days finding her swing after taking her first full two weeks away from golf since she began in 2020 under strict orders of Coach Carl not to touch a club. On Friday the 22nd she traveled to Illinois for three grueling days for training with Carl before returning to Orlando on Monday evening. The next day at noon (this past Tuesday) SuperMom packed her up and drove them both to Sea Island for the tournament she is now one round into playing. NOW you are up to date since the last blog.

Back to Sea Island…..B and SuperMom are fast asleep as Jordan’s second round tomorrow T’s off at 7:30 on 1. She is in a multi way tie for 12th place just 4 strokes off the lead with 36 still to play. She started this morning off of 10 and went two over on the front with a double bogey, a single bogey, 5 pars and 2 🐥’s. The second 9 holes (1-9) she went a brilliant 2 under par with 7 pars and 2 more 🐥’s to finish the day with 4 total 🐥’s. She told SuperMom afterwards that she felt like she left 4-5 strokes out there but with months since her last tournament she put up a very solid opening round.
That’s all for now. Live leaderboard is below for those who care to follow. As Notre Dame is not writing about Jordan’s escapades for the summer we promise to take it back over for this, B’s 6th summer tour. This tournament is the first of what are called the “Elite Amateur Series.” When we close this weeks action with the recap after Saturday’s final round we will give you a preview of the tour as it is shaping up. If she is playing in a city near you and you want to come out to take a walk with Julie or dad please let us know. We are grateful and humbled once again by all of calls and texts, emails and shout outs.
