This one was truly not easy. Jordan made everyone sweat it out. The first day was a mess as we have gone over where she put herself into a pretty deep hole ending the day 9 strokes out. Yesterday she recovered brilliantly decimating the field and climbing all of the way up to second place and 4 strokes out. Today was a mixed bag with a birdie on one, lots of not great stuff in between including a three putt double bogey and the most bizarre shank on 18 where the ball went almost sideways shooting to the other side of the road in the wrong direction and forcing her to take an unplayable as it was OB. (She left the bad ball there BTW, never to be touched by her again as it was just too radioactive). In the end, she was able to follow Coach Carl’s most important mantra, “DO IT WHEN IT MATTERS” and that is exactly what she did draining a brilliant must-make putt on 18 under the most extreme pressure which turned out to be the tournament winner.

Unlike most of her tournaments where success comes at lots of levels, top twenty or top ten, or even top five is good, even runner up for this one had zero value. ONLY the winner was granted an exemption into the 126th US WOMENS AMATEUR, the most significant non professional women’s golf tournament on earth. Since 1895 this tournament has been played by the very best future golf superstars and Jordan will be returning for the second time.

The trophy is nice and all, but it was simply not what the B was playing for…

What Jordan was playing for is the invitation below that several thousand compete for between June 10th and July 15th at 24 different sights, plus the state champions of all 50 states for only 156 spots at the Honors Course this year in Chattanooga Tennessee from August 4th through the 9th.

The Real trophy

Today’s final round was live-streamed and we have gotten so many incredible notes of support from those who were able to watch. Jordan’s Grandmother Jerie was able to watch all of it from her spot in Aventura Fl as well as her fairy godfather Steve Meisel from Phoenix Arizona and her golf grandfather Allen Sirkin from Jupiter,FL and her Papa Selwyn from Vermont, her Gramma Marilyn from Buffalo and many many more. Her cousins in Australia, South Africa, Israel, & Los Angeles tuned in as well as John and Isabelle from Montreal. Really a special day for Jordan and all of us.

A big thank you needs to go out to the Meistro, Jordan’s swing coach Carl Rabito who has been by her side since Coach Jerry Yochum handed her over when he decided she needed a war time consigliere. He has been a true rock in her life since that first day in Orlando when she got off the Auto Train in November of 2020. Part coach, part psychiatrist and true friend Carl is always there.

Jerry walked with SuperMom for the entire tournament including the practice round on Sunday and did what only he can do after a hard round; bring her back down and re-focus her for the battle ahead. B has invited him to join her once again in Tennessee and we all sincerely hope he will be able to make it.

Caddy Brad traveled from Pinehurst to be on the bag for the tournament after their success making the cut last week at the North & South and it looks like he will stay with her for the US AM. Brad traveled up with his wife and two boys and made a family road trip out of the journey up north.

A few changes in Jordan’s schedule now that she has secured her spot at the US Women’s Am: Jordan will scratch from the LNGA next week and instead will practice at Rockrimmon for the beginning part of the week then travel to Bolingbrook to spend time with Coach Carl before heading down to Tennessee on August 1st. August 2nd and 3rd will be the practice rounds, then stroke play August 4th and 5th before the field is cut to 64 for match play that begins August 6 and ending August 9th. Plenty of this tournament will be televised after the cut. We will share that schedule at the time.

That’s all for now. Thank you for coming along for the ride and to quote Jerry Garcia, “What a long strange trip it’s been.”
