Jordan began her round on day 2 with a birdie and a great attitude. Unfortunately the golf gods had a very different idea. Jordan shot +7 with a birdie on the final hole keeping her in the 70’s her only consolation for what was not a great round of golf. On the positive side, she had zero three putts in the entire tournament. A big shout to everyone at Bettinardi. She is a great representative of their equipment (time for a deal?). ALL of her problems were around her not knowing how far her ball would go with the new super power. That was 100% of it. Coaches at Notre Dame are shipping her a “TrackMan” which is a device that sits behind her on the driving range and tells her exactly how far the ball will travel with each club she hits. As her swing is incredibly consistent, this is an issue that should be relatively easy and quick to resolve.
After the cut on Thursday Jordan blew Dodge on the first flight out, a redeye that she took to Orlando to have a few days with SuperMom and SuperSupportive Sister Lyla. As dad is away it is a great opportunity for some girl time. No doubt they will be glued to the TV tonight for the Knicks game. B practiced this morning at Tranquillo and saw Michael Phelps at the gym. Rumor has it that she invited him to play golf with her tomorrow. We will let you know if he accepts.
Jordan next travels to North Carolina on Tuesday morning to play a round with a fellow who may caddy for her in the upcoming North and South Tournament at Pinehurst the first few days of July. She will arrive back in Pound Ridge on Tuesday evening and Coach Carl is coming to work with her on Thursday night. While he is in town she will also go out to Long Island to spend some time with Woody Lashen, her club fitter in NY. Woody is a master club fitter and truly one of the very best in the business. If you are in the market for set of clubs in NY there really is no one better. The tour pros agree as they come from far and wide to see him. Woody’s shop is called Pete’s Golf.
Jordan’s next event will be her qualifier for the US Women’s Am that takes place in Tennessee in August. Her qual is in Southern NJ on Wednesday the 24th and we will post the leaderboard and T time the evening before for those that care to follow. Going to be a tough one with only a spot or two up for grabs.
