JORDAN QUALIFIES FOR HER FIRST DIVISION ONE COLLEGE TOURNAMENT. Wolverine Invitational, here she comes.

SuperMom and the B arrived in South Bend two weeks ago today for Jordan to begin her college career at Notre Dame. It has been non stop getting her room set up and beginning classes while simultaneously practicing and getting integrated with the golf team.

The team has practice most days of the week. In preparation for the first tournament next week in Ann Arbor Michigan, the Wolverine Invitational, the coaches put on a qualifier over the past three days to determine who would get to go and Jordan earned a spot. There are 9 women (first time we will not use the word girls) on the team but only 5 of them will travel to the tournament and of those only the top 4 scores will be counted. SuperMom will make the trip from Orlando on Friday afternoon to Michigan to support Jordan and take her out for a few meals. The practice round will be on Saturday, two rounds (36 holes) will be played on Sunday, and the final round (18 holes) will be played on Monday morning. When B plays college golf she will be playing for two things, first is the team. The combination of the 4 lowest scores from each team makes up the team score. The second thing being played for is the individual champion. A player can win the individual even if their team does not have a good combined score and the converse is also true; a winning team score does not have to include the individual champion. We are learning all of this new stuff and will share it as we learn it.

The 12 teams above will compete next week.

WE ARE ASKING FOR HELP WITH THE FOLLOWING FOR ALL OF JORDAN’S FREIND’S AND FANS AND ANYONE ELSE WHO CAN LEND A HELPING HAND….

Please follow Jordan’s instagram Jordan_lev3. This is actually really important for her as it raises her profile and opens doors for her. PLEASE send to all you know and ask them to also follow. She would really appreciate help with this one!

If you would like more stuff, you can also follow ND Womans Golf

We will publish a link to the live leaderboard on Saturday night before Sunday’s opening round for those who wish to follow. That will do it for now on the college golf side but before we turn this page for good let’s reflect on this last season of her Junior Golf career as it was one for the history books.

The final season began in December with The Hurricane Junior Golf Tours signature event, The National Championship Tournament of Champions. This is where 85 first place winners from the previous season descend on Champions Gate in Orlando to vie for the title Champion of Champions. Jordan won it.

In February Jordan was invited to her very first AJGA Invitational, The Fortinet Stanford Invitational hosted by Rose Zhang. This was an incredible experience and threw open her path to this elite group. Jordan was now competing with the very best of the best.

The next big milestone for Jordan was an explosive victory at Rio Pinar with her final round -6, (66) championship round on May 18th. She won the tournament by 7 strokes and it put her in the right head space for what was to come. It would be her second first place finish since the season began in December.

Just 5 days later, with CaddyUncleDavid on the bag, Jordan would beat a field of 40 taking the championship and earning a spot at the US Girls Junior Championship her first major, her first USGA event, and her 3rd first place victory of the season.

The very next week after three grueling rounds under the 100 plus degree Florida sun, B would win her first AJGA Championship at Punta Gorda FL, her fourth first place victory of the season.

With that victory, the AJGA would invite her to play the Rolex in Wisconsin that began on June 17th, one of the most coveted invites in Junior Golf.

From there Jordan would be invited to another one of the most desired tournaments, The RLX Ralph Lauren Junior Classic at Bethpage Black

On July 7th, again with the magic of CaddyUncleDavid by her side, Jordan did the unthinkable…she beat out 83 of the best amateur woman golfers including tons of D1 college players to take the first place championship at a qualifier for the 125th US Women’s Amateur and earn her spot. This would be the second Major and USGA event she had qualified for, and her 5th first place victory of the season.

There were other things that happened during this final junior golf season, but those are the highlights. In summary, Jordan won 5 first place championships, qualified and played in two major USGA events, played in 3 AJGA invitationals and last week, her final ranking as a junior golfer on the AJGA Rolex put her at number 16 in the world for the class of 2025 her best ever.

This past 5 years has been a whirlwind for Jordan and those that support her. The list is long and her bench is very deep. None of this would have even been sort of possible without SuperMom’s incredible hard work, dedication, organization and perception. Julie, you are a force of nature. Coach Carl, cheers to doing what everyone said could never be done and just doing it. You are a very special man and we are all lucky to have you teaching Jordan. Coach Jerry, you started this mess and your care and guidance have meant the world to all of us. Big Al and CaddyUncleDavid, your support and love are always there. Keith and Tracy in Orlando, not sure how we would have made it without you. The Frey clan, we are so incredibly grateful. Louis and Stephanie, thank you for nothing ever being a problem. There are so many more to thank but as this is only the end of the first chapter please know how much we appreciate you. To everyone who cares enough to read this and want to know about Jordan we say again and again that you humble us.

Before we sign off a few words on what this blog started as, what it became, and its future…..

In June of 2021 Jordan was playing a tournament at Bethpage and we received over 100 texts during the weekend asking about how she was playing and wanting updates on the score and the tournament overall. Her story resonated with both golfers and non golfers alike and we needed a way to communicate with those that cared so much to ask at a pace we could handle and from that this blog was born.

Over the years, that initial group has grown to a few hundred all friends and family and those who have been a part of her journey. When she plays with the sponsors before big tournaments, those who play with her ask how they can keep up with her and we let them in. Many of them from all corners of the country and from other countries she has played continue to be some of her most devoted fans. On a tournament weekend, there will be several hundred unique views, none of them strangers. At the beginning, it was simply scores and facts but slowly we realized that Jordan would also read what we had written along with those comments from each of you. This blog has become a labor of love for Julie and I. Taking the pictures, posting the outcome, sharing the good the bad and the ugly. “The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat.” We recognize that our slant has always been and will remain strongly in Jordan’s favor, but we have tried to share the facts as they are. For B, this has been our gift to you; a complete record of each and every tournament that you have played, all of the places you have gone, the incredible people you have met, the restaurants where you have eaten to, the hotels you have stayed. It is filled with love and laughter and it is a tribute to all you have achieved. We are incredibly proud of all you have achieved as a golfer and an athlete and a student but more importantly who you have become as a young women, our daughter.

Our plan was to make this our last post and end the blog here but we have had so much pushback to this that we have decided to continue, to begin chapter 2, “TyrannosaurusB, The College Years.” We will have lots more competition going forward as we suspect the sports writers at Notre Dame are going to give us a run for our money but we have never been afraid to compete. We have the inside track after all with better access. 😉 We would like to include comments from all of you in this post from chapter one and ask you to send a comment if you have anything you want to share with B. We try to say it every time and this will be no exception, Julie and I will never have the words to thank each and everyone of you who have supported Jordan on this journey. We are humbled by your interest and will forever be grateful for you, our village. Go B, let the world hear Tyrannosaurus Roar.

Love, Mom & Dad
