ATLANTA, GA. Jordan misses the cut by three strokes at US Girls Junior Championship. (Click for photos)

Round two was a great improvement over round one with Jordan shooting +1 for the second round but it was not enough to overcome the hole she had dug for herself on day 1. In the end she missed the cut by only 3 strokes in her first USGA Major event.

Day two for Jordan started at 2:30 and due to a two hour delay for lightning did not get done on Tuesday before darkness overcame the field at 8:48 with two holes still to play. Play resumed at 7:15 AM on Wednesday after a warm-up in the dark.

Jordan flew back to New York yesterday afternoon and will have nine days before she leaves with SuperMom for first Illinois to see Carl for two days of training and then onto Bandon Dunes to play her second USGA event, also a major, The Woman’s US Amateur.

This was an amazing experience for Jordan on so many levels. It was great to see her play so well on the second day on a very tough golf course from 6400 yards. She finished in 85th place almost dead center of the field. The number 4 ranked player in the world tied Jordan and the number 6 in the world was two strokes worse. This was about as hard as it gets. The scores overall were quite a bit higher on day 2 for most and the rating was just shy of 79 making her +1 on the day a -6 differential. Jordan will play many many more big events in her career and look back on this tournament with fun and excitement. It was truly a very very special thing to be a part of and had to be quite overwhelming. Just imagine being a lifelong Yankee fan and then suddenly you walked out on the field under the lights and got to play.

That’s all for now. Unless there’s something to report, the next blog will be from Oregon and the US women’s amateur. We will forward on the broadcast TV schedule as it is announced for those that want to watch it. Again a big thank you to both COACH, Carl, and Caddie Uncle David. To coach Jerry who got us into this mess and always has a supportive comment, we are forever grateful. To everyone else who follows, thank you.
