BREAKING NEWS….JORDAN TO PLAY ROLEX GIRLS JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. (Click for details)

”Change is the only constant in life” Heraclitus 535 BCE. When Jordan woke up yesterday morning she had a plan for the next week. On Saturday she was to go to Illinois for a couple of days with Coach Carl before heading to Indiana for a qualifier for her first Epson Tour Event on Tuesday, then to play a qualifier for the US Womans Am on Thursday in Lima Ohio, back to Carl for one more day of training on Friday, and back to NY on Friday night, hopefully having qualified for her first pro event and securing a spot in The US Womans Amateur. Well, as Stephanie Bell likes to say, “You plan god laughs,” and that is exactly what happened…

At 10:30 am the AJGA called to tell Jordan that due to her recent success they were offering her a place in this years Rolex Girls Junior Championship. Now this is where context is necessary so the magnitude of this can be understood…..Jordan and Coach Carl had set out a list of what she hoped to accomplish in her time as a Junior Golfer; First secure a spot on a Division 1 team at a prestigious university where she could get a great education and compete at the very highest level on her march to the LPGA. ✅ Jordan accepted an offer to play for the University of Notre Dame this fall. Next, be ranked in the top 50 in the World on the Rolex World Rankings for her graduating class before starting college. ✅She is currently ranked 27th in the world for class of 2025. Next, she wanted to play in the Jr. PGA Championship ✅ She qualified last year and played it at Congressional. She will try to earn spot for this year’s on June 23rd/24th. Next, to play the US Girls Junior Championship, a USGA event, often referred to as the US OPEN for juniors. ✅ She qualified in Gainsville with Uncle Caddy David on the bag two weeks ago and will play it in Atlanta July 14th-19th. Next was she wanted to win an AJGA tournament. ✅ She won last week at Punta Gorda. The final item on her Junior Golf Bucket list was to play in the Invitational of all AJGA invitationals the one that every player wants to be a part of, often simply called “THE ROLEX”. There is no applying, no qualifier, you just get invited when the gods at the AJGA deem you worthy. ✅ It was the last item on Jordan’s hit list, and yesterday it got filled.

It is very hard to explain the amount of logistics required to make the changes to one little golfer’s schedule to make all of this possible and only SuperMom (who is currently in Orlando with SuperSupportive sister Lyla for an important swim meet this weekend in Ocala and some training with her Orlando team and coaches) could be up to the challenge. Flights needed canceling and modifying, and rebooking, 4 differently hotels in three different cities needed changes, car rentals needed changing, Coach Carl had to completely upend his schedule, B needed to be withdrawn from both of her other tournaments and accept entrance in to the Rolex, Uncle Caddy David who had already completely changed his week to be at the two qualifiers had to change his flights, hotels etc. The list goes on and on but SuperMom got it all done. Now B and dad go to Illinois tonight so she can spend the next three days with Coach Carl to get her tuned up before she makes the 4 hour drive to Wisconsin for the the first of two practice rounds at The Rolex that will be played over 54 holes and three days June 17th-19th.

That’s all for now. A big thank you to everyone who makes all of this possible for the B. SuperMom at the very top of the list and then in no particular order, Coach Carl for always putting Jordan first, Uncle Caddy David who has turned a simple request to caddy one tournament into a summer job becoming the most overqualified caddy in the history of golf. Golf Grampa Allen for always offering transportation when no other options exist, dad’s incredible partner Louis for making dad’s schedule work, SuperSupportive Sister Lyla for rolling with the punches and everyone else who continues to follow this journey.
