In Junior golf there are all sorts of different tours and leagues but the one that really matters is the AJGA, American Junior Golf Association. Every major tour player of the modern era has played AJGA events. There is a complicated system of performance stars that players earn by doing well in AJGA tournaments, but first you have to qualify to get into their tournaments. A player can only play a maximum of 5 per year, but most do not get into five and many will only play a couple a year or none at all. This past week was the last AJGA tournament that Jordan will get to play as her time as a junior golfer is rapidly coming to an end. She is exiting the tour as a champion. Twice she has come in second and she has a number of top five finishes, but never has she won one until today.

This caps off what has been nothing short of an extraordinary two weeks for The B. First, a decisive win on what will be her last Hurricane Tour event where she shot -6 at Rio Pinar. Last week at Gainesville with Caddy Uncle David by her side she won her qualifier to earn a spot in the US Girls Jr. Championship in Atlanta in July and now her first AJGA Championship at Punta Gorda.

The tournament was extremely close with Jordan winning in the end by a single stroke. She had a comfortable three stroke lead going into 17 but bogeys on 17 and 18 made the finish a nail-biter.

Jordan’s scorecard. She was -2 through 16 with only one bogey and three 🐥’s before the last two holes. The pressure must have been extraordinary. Mi Le is one of the top ten players in the world for the class of 2025 and a top 30 overall and she and Jordan fought their way through before Jordan finally took the championship.

The most prized object in junior golf…The AJGA Champion golf bag. You can’t buy these. You can only win one. They are rare. B would have been fine if they stole her car as long as this was not in it. She has already moved into it.

Jordan returned to Orlando this evening to pack up as she goes north tomorrow to Bedford for the summer season. She will graduate from Dwight Global on Wednesday, have her prom on Thursday, then go and spend a week with her friends in the Caribbean for some much needed and extremely well deserved R&R. She will not pick up a golf club for the next two weeks and that is a good thing. When she returns from Bonaire, she will head to Illinois for a couple of days with Coach Carl Rabito before playing a qualifier for her first Epson Tour Event at Otter Creek in Columbus Indiana, then on to Lima Ohio for her US Womans Amateur qualifier. Uncle Caddy. Dave will be on the bag for both of those events.
That’s all for now. Thank you for taking this journey with Jordan. Having everyone along is what makes this fun for all. A big shout out and thank you to Coach Carl who deserves so much of the credit for Jordan’s success. He first laughed when Jordan told him her plan four years ago but became a believer and has helped Jordan move at a pace that he claims has never been done before. Carls dedication to Jordan and her hopes and dreams is a truly a thing of beauty. We are extremely grateful for his guidance and incredible teaching skills. This story has only just begun.
