GAINSVILLE, FL. First day of the FJT University of Florida Major was not pretty for Jordan

Yesterday Jordan shot +7 to finish the day in 9th place at the FJT. This is a tough course for sure but not a particularly strong field compared to the tournaments B has been playing for the last stretch. To be fair (this terribly biased blogger will ALWAYS find something positive) a big part of the problem yesterday was that Jordan was blasting the ball past the green, “airmailing” it as her irons are going quite a bit farther and she has not figured out quite yet which ones to use. Coach Carl has made this a focus the past few weeks so this tournament is all about sorting this. Again, to put all the cards on the table, this tournaments only real value is just that, a place for her to try some stuff out in preparation for a really cool tournament next month that Jordan was invited to (details to come soon).

So for the forensics….B airmailed the first three greens bogeying one and two and doubling 3. She parred 4 and 5, then bogeyed 6 brining her to +5 through 6, a score she has not put up in quite a while. She settled down and parred 7-12 before printing her second double on 13. 14 was par, almost a bird that lipped out. 14 was the only 🐥of the round. 15, 16, & 17 were pars, and she finished with one final bogey on 18 for a total of 7 over par and as we hinted in the title a round that was not pretty.

Jordan and SuperMom had a nice dinner at Bonefish Grill last night after Jordan spent some time putting after the round and talking it through with Coach Carl. Her post round comment to SuperMom was, “I know what I did and can fix it for tomorrow.”

Today’s T time is 12:09 off of 10. and don’t be surprised if she systematically stomps those above her and closes much of the seven stroke deficit that separates her from the leader who finished even yesterday. Adversity does not crush B, it fuels her to be better.

The two photos above are all that was submitted to the newsroom. Hopefully something will come in today that has Jordan in it.

That’s all for now. Thank you for following. We will be back later with the results from the day.
