HOWEY IN THE HILLS, FL. Jordan shoots +5 on day one of the Orlando International Amateur to end day one in 32nd place.

Of the 182 players who were registered for the tournament, 165 remain after day one. Jordan in 32nd place is in the top 20% after the first round, a nice spot to be. The temperature was cold for Florida, starting at 42 degrees when B arrived for her warm up at 7:45am. Wind gusts topped 22 mph creating tough playing conditions.

This is a ton of players for one location even with two courses to play. Warm up was a madhouse and parking was all but impossible. None of this rattled Jordan. She got out and did her thing with 6 bogeys, 11 pars and a single 🐥. The course played super long and with the wind blowing like it was there were 2 or 3 holes that B was not able to reach in regulation on this almost 6300 yard track. Jordan had the privilege of playing with her future Notre Dame team mate Bridget Wilkie who on top of being a very nice person might be the best player on the team. There are 5 Notre Dame players on the team and the coaches posted a good luck to them…very classy.

Post from Notre Dame coaches to their players

Tomorrow’s T. Time for Jordan is at 7:39 off of hole 10 on the Las Colinas course where the temperature is predicted to be 41 degrees and the sun rise will be at 7:20. As B gets to the course for warm up 90 minutes before her T time, she will be warming up in the dark. SuperMom says that they will leave the house at 5:15 for the 50 minute drive to the course.

After the round tomorrow, only 70 will remain after the cut to play the final round on Monday. Jordan is hellbent on being one of those 70. That’s all for now. Thank you for the texts and comments, calls and emails.
