CORAL SPRINGS FL. Despite Mother Nature’s Very Best Efforts, Jordan Makes the Cut at the Dixie AM. (Click for pics and more).

She huffed and puffed and rained and poured pulverizing the field at the 2024 Dixie Amateur and B was not spared. The scores are the highest this blogger has ever seen at a major tournament and over 10% of the field has withdrawn or simply left without turning in their score cards. Today wind gusts of 42 mph were recorded. This was not fun for anyone to play in or spectate but the players today were truly heroic in their efforts.

Jordan ended today in 54th place (almost exactly in the middle of the field of the 108 who began) after shooting +10 today. This was not a pretty round for Jordan.

Jordan’s scorecard today

After parring the first three holes this morning, Jordan’s foot slipped due to the heavy rain on her second shot of the 4th hole sending her ball into the drink. She then chipped on but the shot did not release and she had a 20 footer to try to make bogey that missed. She finished the hole with a double bogey. The next hole, a par 5, her ball ended up under the tree canopy from the second shot. To make the third shot it required a low “BB” to stay below the leaves that could not possibly stop on the green and rolled off. She would bogey that hole. She came back with pars on 6 & 7. On 8, B smoked her second shot from 225 yards almost reaching the green. Her next shot rolled over the hole almost falling for eagle and ended as a 🐥, her only one of the day. She went on to par 9 finishing the side at +2 and looking very confident. Then came the back 9 and wheels would truly depart the wagon.

Ten was a par. 11,12,& 13 all bogeys and the putter was the culprit once again. 12 & 13 were back to back three putts. 14 was a par, then 15 was another three putt on a hole that should have been a birdie. 16 was a par. 17 was a very rare quad that included an unplayable ball, a bad decision to try to hit it, and very little going right for her. A hole she will not soon forget though she certainly learned from it. 18 was a par that again could easily have been a birdie.

That’s all for now. A big thank you once again to Allen for spending another day watching Jordan in some very uncomfortable weather. Both B and dad really enjoyed our two days together. We will be back tomorrow night with the final wrap up for this tournament. SuperMom is back in Coral Springs for the action tomorrow.
