CORAL SPRINGS, FL. With a brutal day of putting Jordan drops to 42nd place at the Dixie.

As Jordan got off the 18th hole she walked up to Allen and dad and said, “You can’t win with 5 three putts.” That really sums up the round. Playing later in the day today was a severe penalty as the wind picked up by the hour to a crescendo after 3pm with gusts approaching 25 miles an hour. Putts would seemingly switch directions halfway across the green as they were hammered by the wind. A ball in the water on 12 certainly did not help the cause leading to the 2nd double bogey of the day to match the first on 9.

Strange as this is going to sound, B actually hit the ball quite well. Yes, for a tournament to go very well everything has to work for sure, but there was some great stuff today T to green. Coach Carl told Allen and dad, “When the wind blows like that it usually messes up the putting.” Jordan sent Carl some videos of her putting after the round and it was clear that she had an exaggerated left tilt to her head that Coach said leads to exactly the result Jordan had.

This is a very tough tournament for everyone. Only 34 players of the 105 who began yesterday have scores of better than +10. There are still two days left to play and the leaderboard will look very different both tomorrow and at the completion of this tournament.

A big thank you to Allen for coming down to Coral Springs to watch Jordan. He will have dinner with her and dad, stay over and brave another day of cold and wind to watch tomorrow’s 3rd round. Also a shout out to Louis Bell who came for the match today. Jordan is super grateful for the support.

That’s all for now. Tomorrow is moving up day as B wants to first be sure to make the cut, then to scale this leaderboard that she is very capable of conquering.

  1. Today’s wind was brutal. I cannot imagine playing a tournament in it. (I also cannot imagine playing a tournament with rain, sun, cold or perfect conditions for that matter.) Glad you’ve had company from the Florida crew. We are with you in spirit.

    Love you guys.
