Coral Springs, FL. After a rough opening 5 holes Jordan takes control carding +4 to finish day 1 in a 13 way tie for 20th place at Eagle Trace.

The wind was banging and the temperature varied over 30 degrees from hole 1 to hole 18 creating a huge change in playing conditions during opening day at The Dixie Am. Jordan took a little while to acclimate bogeying three of the first five holes (2,3,&4) before she settled down. Good news is that this is a 72 hole tournament so she has plenty of golf still to play.

As of the end of the day, 32 players are within 4 strokes of the lead. On hole 6, a par 4, Jordan chipped it in for 🐥. The very next hole, she AGAIN chipped it in for par carding back to back chip ins. Two holes, NO PUTTS! On the front, she shot +3 that included 4 bogeys and a single 🐥. On the back, she 🐥11, and bogeyed 13 & 16 for +1. This was a very high scoring round as the leader is even. Not a single player of the 105 was able to break par today and that says a lot with the strength of this field. B is in very good position for day 2 tomorrow. SuperMom headed back to Orlando this afternoon after the round to get Lyla ready for her swim meet this weekend and dad joined Jordan in Coral Springs.

After the round B spent an hour working through some parts in her game that needed massaging, then returned to the house for an afternoon full of homework. Over burgers Jordan explained to dad that she was coming up on her heels a bit to compensate for the wind and when she realized it she was able to correct it showing a real maturity in her game.

Tomorrow and Saturday Golf Grampa Allen will join dad for rounds two and three. The last time Allen watched B play in competition was at the Honda, almost three years ago. As Allen was one of the first to embrace Jordan’s golf game and take her seriously, she is looking forward to having him there. T time is 12:09 with the same two she played with today.

Below is a flashback photo of Jordan at the Honda in January of 2022

That’s all for now. Thank you for all of the comments and texts today. We will be back tomorrow night with the updates.
