This is one of the “Majors” in the Jr. Golf World. In fact, of the 990 Jr. Golf tournaments this year, The Elite is ranked #3 only behind the US Junior and the Jr. PGA (which Jordan played at Congressional in July) according to the tournament director in this evenings opening ceremony. Of the 108 players in the field (66 boys and 42 girls) from nine countries and 22 states, 63 have committed to continuing their careers at the collegiate level, with the futures of 28 power conference programs on display. 55 college coaches have signed in to watch and several hundred spectators have requested entry. This is a really exciting tournament for Jordan to play.
B arrived in Ponte Vedra yesterday morning and immediately went to play a practice round. Dinner was followed by a few hours of home work, then another practice round this morning, more homework, dinner, opening ceremonies, now more homework as this is being written then to bed by 9:30 after a final talking to from Coach Carl Rabito.
Tomorrow’s T time will be 9:24 off of hole number 10. She is completely relaxed and in her zone for what promises to be a great 54 holes of golf over the next three days of competition. SuperMom packed her up and dad will have the fun of watching this one.
