There are five tournaments each year in the Jr. Golf World that everyone tries to qualify for and the PGA Jr. Championship is considered one of the biggest. B earned her spot here by winning the Met Jr. PGA Championship at Hampshire last month and oh what a journey it has been….156 of them are here representing the best of the best. Some of them already have a US open or two under their belt as well as US woman’s am, US girls, and the Augusta AM. These are the biggest names and they have descended on Congressional, a storied venue that makes most avid golfers bucket lists for this competition. This title will be contested over 72 holes taking place over 4 days. There will be a cut down to 60 after the second round and a Final Cut to 30 for the last round.

Above is a link to all of the players, where they are from, what year they will enter University, and if they have committed to a school which one it is. Note that nobody beyond the class of 2025 is able to commit yet.

Jordan is super excited yet confident and relaxed after two practice rounds that took place on Sunday and Monday. These were two of the very longest rounds she has played with yesterday’s at 5 hours and 30 minutes and today’s over 6 hours both in searing 94 plus degree heat. There are actually two different courses at Congressional, the Gold and the Blue. She played Gold yesterday and Blue today. Blue is the Championship course and the one you would have seen if you ever caught a professional event that was played here. The opening round will be on Gold tomorrow, then all subsequent play will be on Blue.

Players are here from the United States, Canada, India, China, Kenya, South Africa, Italy, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, Chechnya, United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Guatemala, and New Zealand and their flags are all being flown at the driving range.

Only players beyond the ropes

Jordan’s T time tomorrow is at 2:14 pm and if the last two days are any indication she will be lucky to finish while there is still daylight. Link to the live leaderboard is below for anyone that cares to follow.

That’s all for now. Very close family friend David Sirkin has joined dad in Maryland to support and cheer Jordan on and keep her father company. A big shout and thank you to him as well as everyone else who reads this blog and encourages Jordan. You will never know just how grateful we are for your support. Be back tomorrow night with highlights from day one.
