Jordan’s Score Card

Jordan and Emma who is a superstar and almost won today. Both earned spots to Maryland

Jordan with our very good friend Scott Frey who kept dads head on straight today when it was close
Today was a long hot slog of over 5 hours but in the end Jordan was able to stave off some very stiff completion to end up on top. The day did not start out well as hole one was a doozy…A par five that B got on the green in two and had a makable Eagle putt turn into a 4 putt bogey putting her immediately into second place. The leader then birdied 3 to go to three ahead of Jordan. At the end of the day Jordan would rally from behind closing the gap and ending two strokes ahead of 2nd place for the victory. Jordan had three bogeys on the day and 2 🐥’s with 13 pars to finish at one over on the round and 4 over for the tournament. She left 5 birdie putts on the rim that refused to fall.
We are often asked on the blog, “What does this mean?” For this tournament it means ALOT. This one was big. The Met PGA is the section of the PGA that includes Westchester, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island and Connecticut. By winning this Jordan will have her first opportunity to compete on the National Stage as the different sections of the PGA from all over the country send their champions to this week long event that this year takes place at Congressional in Maryland. This tournament is considered one of the “Majors” for Jr. Golfers.

With practice rounds, Jordan will be there from July 27 through August 2nd (provided she makes it through both cuts). Really an exciting thing for her and a validation for all of the hard work she has done to get here. Big shout out of appreciation to Coach Carl Rabito who has been instrumental in Jordan’s success. Coach Jerry Yochum continues to also contribute on a regular basis coming through with clutch fixes when Jordan needs them most.

Jordan and dad
Ok, now for the schedule over the next few weeks….Jordan and SuperMom will leave for Appalachia NY on Thursday where Jordan will attempt to defend her NY State Jr. AM title that she won last July on Tuesday and Wednesday. It is a 54 hole tournament played over two days. 18 holes on day one and a grueling 36 holes on day 2. Last year B won the title in style shattering the course record at Lake placid with a final day score of 65. The twist this year is that the winner gets a spot at the US Girls Championship (essentially the US Girls Jr. Amateur and another Major) in Tarzana California in mid July.

If this has all made you dizzy, Jordan returns to Bedford on July 3rd where she will have 60 hours at home for SuperMom to unpack, wash, and repack B who will leave on July 6th for Illinois for a couple of days tune up with Coach Carl before playing a qualifier on the 10th for the US Woman’s Amateur.
That’s all for now. Long blog but lots to report. We were humbled yet again by more then 100 texts, calls, emails, instagram notes, comments on the blog of support for Jordan over these past two days. We are so incredibly grateful for all of them. Scott, thank you for spending the day with dad. He leaned on you all day and as usual you held him up. We will be back next week from upstate NY to report on the New York State Jr. Am.
Congrats Jordan…awesome win! Keep it going!!! Looking good Dad!!!
