In yet another tournament with wind and driving rain Jordan shoots a 68 (-4) to take a commanding 5 stroke lead after round one at the Advent Health HJGT Orlando Open.

Top Half of the leaderboard. There are another 17 names below not included. 38 players in all are fighting for this one.
The day started strong for Jordan and stayed that way. Only a single bogey stood in the way of B shooting a flawless round one at Rio. In the end she carded 12 pars and 5 🐥’s with that bogey and gave a lesson in putting with only 27 total putts on the day and no 3 putts.
The hole of the day was number 15 when Jordan made her only true mistake of the round attempting to clear a stream rather then laying up ending up in a lost ball that went swimming. She went on to make a 35 foot one putt from the fringe to save par in what Dan would describe as her “Tiger Woods Moment.” Dan actually summed up the day best this evening when he said, “Shooting a -4 is a great accomplishment on a perfect day. Doing it in the wind and rain with conditions that more aptly resemble Missouri and in a tournament no less is extraordinary.”

Jordan’s Round 1 scorecard
That’s all for now. T time tomorrow is at 12:34 again off of hole number 10. A special thank you once again to Dan Zheng for making the trip this morning from Chicago to be with Jordan today. He seems to be her lucky charm as he was also in attendance when she shot her first tournament round under par at EagleCreek in December of 2021. A big shout out to Supermom as the planning and logistics for the clothing and layering that keep B warm and dry in weather like today is a feat that the logisticians at Amazon would be envious of. If she ever teaches a course in it many a junior golfers parents should sign up.
Thank you for all of the texts and emails. 23 of them tonight contained the word “Dominant” so that is why we used it in tonight’s title. There is still 36 holes to play in this tournament so it is far from over. Please keep the comments, emails and text coming. They are the fuel that inspires us to keep writing this blog.

This is phenomenal. Go Jordan thru wind and rain. >
