Citrus ends with Jordan in 17th place after shooting +4 in the final round.

Playing in these woman’s amateur events can be a humbling experience as a players move up from the junior events into this next league. The distances are longer, the courses are more challenging and the competition is a completely different level. In the end, Jordan had just an ok round yesterday but good enough to still keep her in the top 25% of the field. 68 players began and B bested 51 of them. These included many seasoned division one college players and members of the Canadian National Team. It also included a number of players that have already committed to top tier schools. Everyone of them was good enough to win this event.

Overall a great learning experience for Jordan and she will shake it off and move on to the next. For the day she had one double bogey, five bogeys, ten pars, and 3 🐥’s. For the tournament she was +10 for the four rounds of golf shooting 75-75-72-76. This score would have been absolutely unthinkable two years ago.

As it is the beginning of the year, let’s reflect on last year and share the highlights. Jordan played 19 tournaments in total, 17 junior events and 2 woman’s amateurs plus a number of qualifiers. She tried to qualify for 3 USGA events including the US OPEN. She damn near got into the USGirls Junior earning first alternate status. She had 8 rounds in competition UNDER par. B had 13 top ten finishes. Of those, 10 were top five finishes. She had 5 runner up (second place finishes). For her 5 AJGA events, one was a tenth place, one a 5th place, and one a fourth place. She came in third in the Hurricane National Championship with a field of 100 +. She won two events, the Ocala FJT open, and The New York State Junior Amateur where she shattered the course record in Lake Placid by 3 strokes on the final day shooting a career best 65. She made every cut except one, the Woman’s Western Junior. Overall an incredible season and one that she and her coach Carl Rabito can be extremely proud of.

Jordan’s next event will be in the end of January as it is now time for her to get back to her studies and work the kinks out with Carl from these last two tournaments. 72 hole events are long grueling marathons and the weather of these past two has tested everyone involved. Though the actual competition is only 4 days, Jordan needs to arrive two or three days in advance for practice rounds and just to settle in making each of these tournaments a full week. The logistics, coordination and execution take precise planning and SuperMom is a magician getting it all done. She does it all with poise and dignity and love and makes it look easy. B is incredibly lucky to have this amazing woman and role model in her life. None of this would be possible without Julie.

That’s all for now. Another big thank you for all of the support that you show Jordan day in and day out with your comments, texts, calls, and emails. It also makes it fun for all of us. A number of you have come to see her play in different places all over the country supporting both her and rest of the family. Gary and Rhea came to Alabama, John came to Calgary, Papa came to Pittsburgh, Scott came to Championsgate, Dallas came to North Carolina, Coach Jerry not only came to Pittsburgh but he was on the bag for the 36 straight holes of mountenoius terrain at Shannopin, 15 plus miles without stopping! Danny showed up all over the show but his picture taking skills have been absent. Jordan’s adoptive grandfather Allen remains a big part of her support system. He is her favorite playing partner and their matches are as intense as any Jordan plays in competition. No doubt we are forgetting some people here and for that we apologize.

Finally, a few words about Coach Carl. What a year it has been. Carl is the last voice she hears before she starts a competitive round and the first she hears after the last putt falls. This year he has traveled with her to Bermuda, Alabama, Pittsburgh, and Pompano Beach. He came to NY three times over the summer. We are forever grateful for Carl’s dedication and professionalism. He has taken Jordan to a level unheard of in just 3 competitive seasons of golf and the best is yet to come.

“Oh the Places you will go.”
