Jordan Survives Day 2 of the Dixie AM.

Not since Bermuda last year has Jordan faced these conditions. Wind swirls and changes direction at a constant 12 knots gusting to 40+. Rain starts and stops and the course has been torn up due to extreme usage and careless cart drivers. There are tire ruts and standing water in spots making it tough to navigate and complicating the rules for when a player gets relief to move a ball. They moved T boxes yesterday making all of the planning that Jordan and Carl have done since Monday obsolete. Quite frankly the most difficult Golf B has ever played. Yesterday, more then 50% this field of extremely accomplished golfers shot 80 or higher and Jordan was no exception carding an 81. This was Jordan’s first round in the 80’s since August and only the third of 2023. Yesterday’s round was over 6 hours long further adding to the exhaustion. Because she had to finish round one before starting round two, Jordan was at the golf course yesterday from 5:45am until 3:45pm playing for the entire 10 hours.

The weather report here in Pompano Beach is terribly ominous with a big storm coming in today. It is questionable that they will finish this tournament or even this round today. Format has been changed in the hope of getting in the action today to a 9am Shotgun where B will start on hole number 5. She and Carl will begin the warm up process at 7:30 before making the long trek out to 5, the farthest spot on the course from the club house. At least she gets to ride in a cart. Carl and dad have to walk it, sloppy wet shoes and all.

Jordan currently sits in 23rd place in this field of 106. Yesterday definitely tested her but did not break her, far from it. After 10 minutes of beating herself up she turned to Carl and dad and said, “I wish I could go play another round right now. This course owes me.” Jordan had an early dinner last night in downtown Lauderdale and was in bed by 8:30. With half of the tournament still to play she is 12 strokes off the leader, 8 strokes out of second place. Today is Moving UP DAY and it is going to be exciting.

That’s all for now. Thank you once again for all of the support and especially all of your concern for Jordan after the round yesterday. Please don’t worry about her. She is the one who wants this and she will succeed.

  2. Wonder girl….you will never cease to amaze. Reading the events of yesterday was like reading a golf horror story about a young girl set out into a golf weather horror show and she overcomes all that nature can toss at her…. And her Dad… and coach…yet she survives to play another day. And Dad…. We know she must love this game that she chooses to play…. And play so well. These young golfers sound as if they are playing the golf version of survivor on that course. 😂. So off you go…. Have a great game…. I know you will…. 🤗.
