Jordan takes 3rd place at the Hurricane National Championship.

For a while today Jordan had the lead before a tough patch on the back 9 would force her to settle for bronze. Three bogeys over five holes was what kept her from taking the championship despite three birdies. Lots of good stuff in her game for her to be proud of including two monumental drivers off the deck on par 5’s that were executed flawlessly. Chipping was the area that both she and Coach Carl felt gave her the most difficulty. Putting was good if not great and Jordan only carded one three putt for the round.

In the end B shot +1 today, -1 yesterday to go even for the tournament. She bested 84 of the 86 players who qualified to play. Great improvement over the 16th place from last year in the same tournament.

Next week Jordan will travel to Pompano Beach to play her first Woman’s Amateur Invitational, “The Dixie Amateur” at Palm Aire. Practice rounds are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and competition is Thursday through Sunday, 72 holes over four days. There will be a cut down to 66 players after the third day from 108 players. We will update from there when they announce the T-times and pairings.

That’s all for now. Thank you for all of the great encouragement for Jordan. She loves to read all of the comments even though she seldom has the opportunity to respond.

  1. Wow! Sounds like an amazing tournament for you with you playing so so strong! While I’m sure you would have liked to finish in first place, but it’s FABULOUS that you finished in front of 84 other girls who are also such great players. Perspective perspective. Congratulations Jordan! We’re so proud of you!
