CHAMPION! Jordan wins her first FJGT title at Ocala. (Click for pictures and more).

It took 6 playoff holes and boat loads of persistence but she finally did it capturing her very first Florida title. Two summers ago Jordan won her very first golf tournament, that one at Bethpage. That was a MetJr. PGA event. When we shared it in the blog one of her followers commented to dad, “Well, that is just wonderful, but NY is not the Mecca of golf. Tell her she will have to win one in FL for me to be impressed.” Now, that bloke was definitely just being funny, but……well….Are you impressed now? 😉

It was not a gimme by any means. Girls came out to play and four of them were tied going into today’s final round. In the end, Jordan prevailed thanks to her driver and her short game which covered up some not so great play along the way. Jordan came out swinging this morning once again carding 3 🐥’s in her first 5 holes to go to -3. In the end, she would finish regulation play at +1 tied with a very talented Sophia Hong. They would go on to play 6 playoff holes before Jordan could claim the title. She shot 73/73 over the 36 hole event.

With this victory, Jordan earns “Exempt” status from Florida State Golf Association and admittance into some of their most exciting and competitive tournaments. She adds this to her exempt AJGA status that she was able to earn with her New York Jr. Am title. This is the first of four tournaments that B will play over the next three months. Next stop is the PKB National Championship Invitational in November at Bermuda Run in North Carolina. We promise to write some pre game stuff before.

That’s all for now. Exciting day for the B. Many thanks once again to all of you who follow and share this with her.
