Jordan makes the cut in Salem as 1/3 of this very talented field is sent home shooting +2 on day 2.

B goes into day 3 at the AJGA Golf Performance Center Junior in a five way tie for 11th place after shooting 74 on day 2. She is currently plus 5 for the tournament in what is a very densely packed leaderboard. The top 2 players are currently -5 and all but un-catchable with only 18 holes left to play. After them, there are 13 players of the remaining 24 that are within 3 strokes of medaling (top 3 of any tournament “Medal” kind of like in the Olympics where there is a gold, silver, and bronze). Without doing any in-depth analysis to confirm this statement, the editorial staff here can not recall a tournament in Jordan’s very short career (this is only her third full season of competition after all) where the players are packed so tightly going into a final round.

Jordan’s game yesterday was consistent and methodical with very few mistakes. Salem is not an easy course, narrow and unforgiving with heavy grass surrounding the fairways. Missing a shot can be terribly punitive with mistakes quickly turning into doubles and even triples. This leaderboard is littered with players making huge moves downward after a single devastating hole. If you have been following along you will see this throughout any single day of play.

B’s round yesterday was of the grind-it-out variety. She went the first seven even par, then bogeyed 8 & 9 to finish the side at +2. On the back, she quickly recovered going bogey free (unfortunately also 🐥free) to finish at 74. Coach Jerry who was again on hand for the action was impressed with the consistency of Jordan’s play. He wrote to coach Carl last night, “Jordan’s toughness and tenacity during today’s round will help her tomorrow and in the future.”

T time this morning is at 7:40. SuperMom is there and it is probably a good guess that Coach Jerry again is on the scene. He has been doing a play by play commentary for Coach Carl Rabito that has been invaluable so that they can together help Jordan strategize. Awesome team that surrounds Jordan and SuperMom and dad feel very very lucky that both of these incredible men are involved in B’s journey.
