Jordan sneaks in a quick 36 hole Met Jr. PGA tournament and takes 2nd place in field of 21 at Spook Rock. (Click for Pics and the story).

B needed her fix. She thrives on competition and announced to SuperMom and dad on Sunday that she had signed herself up for her first Met Jr. PGA tournament of the year. The ground rules were no spectators and no blog. She wanted to do it old school and she came back to the old neighborhood to do it. Like Rocky returning to the old gym where it all began Jordan grabbed her bag and her cart, gave SuperMom the time and location for pick up and drop off, hid dad’s computer and went to play.

Yesterday she had two bogeys and two 🐥’s to finish the front side even. On the back, nothing but par golf….except for hole 13. It was a par 3 and B shanked the drive into the woods. 2nd shot missed the green, she chipped on and 2 putted for a 6, a triple. She ended the day in third place at +3.

Today, exactly the same score on the front, even, again with 2 bogeys and 2🐥’s. On the back, she would have no bogeys and 1🐥 to finish the round at -1. She finished in 2nd place with a two day total of 146, +2. Jordan took down 20 of the 21 players. If she had one more day, Vegas odds say she would have won the tournament. To again quote the other Jordan, Michael, “She did not lose the game, she ran out of holes.”

All in all, a very consistent game. In 36 holes, Jordan had 1 triple bogey, 4 bogeys, 26 pars, and 5🐥’s. As Coach Carl says, “She came out to do a piece of work and got it done.” It was also 94 degrees with a real feel temperature of 102 and the round went on for five and a half hours.

The final Leaderboard

SuperMom is feverishly doing laundry once again, the suitcases are open and car is full of gas. On Saturday morning the two of them will drive to Leesburg VA for a Peggy Kirk Bell tournament called, “The Lansdowne Resort Girls Classic to be contested July 10th – July 11th. B will play practice rounds both Saturday and Sunday before Monday’s opening round. We will bring you the T time and the link to the live leaderboard when they are released.

That’s all for now. This has been a very busy last couple of months and there are still another 6 tournaments and qualifiers before Jordan’s 2023 summer tour comes to a close. Thank you for all of the incredible support for B through great finishes like today and those not quite as satisfying. SuperMom promises to take lots of pics at Lansdowne.
