After Day One at Salisbury Jordan is in a 3 way tie for 18th place following a rollercoaster round. (Click for pictures and more).

Today B was all over the show and the leaderboard. Let’s get right into it and show you how it went……

Hole one is a par 4. She was on in two, then 3 putt for bogey. +1 after one. Hole 2, a routine par 4 was a par. Hole 3, a par five, bogey. She was +2 through 3 and in 12th place. Hole four, a par 4 was a par. Hole 5, a par four, she 3 putt for bogey. Now plus 3 through 5 and in 22nd place. 6 was a par 3 which she would par.

7 is a par 5. B blasted her drive to 20 feet from the green, hit to 20 feet, and sunk the putt for 🦅 bringing her to +1 through 7 and into 7th place. 8 was a routine par 4 which she parred. 9, a par 3 was a 🐥 bringing her to even on the front and putting her into 2nd place after the first 9 holes. A tough beginning to the front with a very happy ending for the side.

Then, the back 9 after clawing her way back to even…..

10 was a par 4 that she bogeyed. 11, a par 4, she would again 3 putt for a bogey.

12, a par 4 turned out to be an unmitigated disaster. Jordan’s drive was into a fairway bunker. It would take her 3 shots to get out (very unusual for her as bunkers are generally her friends) and lead to a 7, a triple bogey. She was now at +5 after only 3 holes on the back 9 and in 24th place.

13 is a par 5 that B would 🐥. Great recovery after 12 for sure and she followed it up with a par on 14, a par 3.

15, a par 5 would be another bogey thanks to her 4th 3 putt of the day. 16, a par 4 she shot par. 17, a par 3 was also par.

18 would turn out to be a double bogey and Jordan’s 5th three putt of the day.

In summary, she shot +7 with one triple bogey, one double bogey, six bogeys, seven pars, 2🐥’s, and one 🦅. Now that is a crazy round. She is tied for 18th place, 7 shots out of the lead, 5 shots out of 2nd and three out of third. Of the 46 who started today, only 23 will advance to the final day on Monday as there will be a cut of the bottom 50% of the field after tomorrow. As of right now, only a single stroke separates B from that cut line.

There is still two thirds of this tournament left to play and anything can happen. Two holes today was the difference between Jordan finishing in 2nd place or in 18th. The putting clearly failed her as she lost 5 strokes to three putts. As our friend Chuck said when texting with Dad earlier, “That’s Junior Golf!”

Most of the round today was in the pouring rain and tomorrow looks to be at least as bad. SuperMom is a trooper and a great sport. She picked up a small feast at Olive Garden (the only restaurant in town where they could find gluten free food) and they watched tv and had a picnic in their hotel room as they attempted to dry out the gear for tomorrow morning where they will begin bright and early. Jordan’s T time is at 8:48 from #1. This means that they will leave their hotel by 7:15 at the latest.

That’s all for now. A very happy 22nd anniversary to SuperMom. There is no doubt that dad would have found you a nicer spot than OG if you had been together. Rain check? Thanks all for following and standing by Jordan during the great rounds and the ones that don’t go exactly as planned. This is a marathon and not a sprint. To quote Allen, “Tomorrow is Moving UP day!”

The Very “Colorful” scorecard from today.

The morning march from the hotel room.
