Jordan is in solo third place at the close of day two at Rio Pinar shooting one over par. (Click for pics and details).

Today was a day of simple straight forward execution. Only one moment of terror for the parents (Hole 15, par 5, will explain later). During the round, B had two bogeys, 1 birdie, no three putts, no lost balls, no long putts where you hold your breath and cheer when it goes in, no chip ins, NADA. The only extraordinary thing about the round was just how un-extraordinary it was. As Carl likes to say, “All routine. She went out, did a piece of work, and went home.” She made every fairway (yeah, every single one) and only missed 3 greens in regulation. Her putting was good enough that every first putt stopped between 2 inches and 3 feet from the hole, they just did not drop for birdie. Her chipping put everything on the green, just nothing was a true birdie opportunity. Getting the picture? Had the birdies sunk….well you get the idea, this is golf after all.

The only moment of true excitement on the day was the par 5 hole 15. Jordan smacked it down the middle and had 209 yards to the pin for her second shot. The problem is that the hole is guarded by a ten foot wide swath of water that sits just 15 feet from the front edge of the green. B waits for the green to clear after one of her group laid up and proceeds to pure her 3 wood 225 plus landing the ball on top of the hill behind the green. She chipped to 3 feet and got her only birdie of the day after half killing her parents who were convinced it was going swimming.

Super Mom, Amazing Sister Lyla and dad all got to watch today’s action. Tomorrow it will only be Super Mom who promises to send the details and some pictures. Jordan will play tomorrow in the final group, that of the top three players. T off is at 1:20. She will go into tomorrows final round 2 strokes out of 2nd place and 6 strokes off the leader.

That’s all for now. Thank you for the comments and texts. We will keep saying this….Having everyone along makes this fun for us and Jordan.

Warm up

Today’s scorecard is on the bottom.
