Going into the final round today Jordan is in a tie for 7th place just 4 strokes off the leader. (Click for pictures and more).

Yesterday Jordan began to knock off the rust that accumulates during a long lay off from tournament play. There were pieces of her game that were brilliant and there were some flat spots that need to be sharpened up. We will give you a quick summary of the game….

First hole (she started on 10) was a par 4 which she parred.

Eleven, a par 5 was a great drive and her second shot almost got to the green. She chipped on but the shot was not lofted properly and rolled off the back. Chip back on but landed 15 feet from the green which she would 2 putt for bogey.

Twelve was a one putt and a great par save.

Thirteen and fourteen were routine pars.

On Fifteen, B went about 6 feet too far to the right and her ball went out of pounds into 3 foot wet fescue, lost ball. She would bogey the hole.

She played the next 7 holes bogey free missing 3 legitimate birdie opportunities. At this point she was plus 2 and only a stroke off the leader.

On hole number 4, if she had made the birdie, she would have been tied for the lead with 5 holes to go.

Number 5 was probably her worst hole of the day. It is a par 3. B mishit the drive and came up about halfway to the pin. It through her and her chip up fell 25 feet short of the pin. The putt was 10 feet past the hole. She made a great putt to save bogey and she was now at plus 3.

Six is the hardest hole on the course, a very long par 4. Jordan had a good drive, then an amazing 3 wood from 205 yards out to make the green. Best shot of the day so far. Unfortunately, she would go on to 3 putt making another bogey bringing her to plus 4.

On seven, she would again 3 putt for bogey bringing her to plus 5.

On eight, her two playing partners both would lay up to the water that was 180 yards away. Jordan had had enough of the nonsense and took out her new big boy driver and blasted the ball to the other side of the water. She needed to fly it 227 to clear and the landing area was surrounded on three sides by hazards, two water and one ugly sand trap. With a surgeons precision she threaded the needle and landed it perfectly. The rules official who was watching remarked to B’s dad and grandmother, “That was the first time I have seen that today from any of the girls, gutsy as hell.” The next shot was not so good and put her behind a hill with an impossible shot to advance the ball to the hole. She hacked it out on to the cart path where she needed a ruling from that very same rules official to get relief. She had a blind and very difficult chip on the green that landed 20 feet from the hole. She drained the 20 footer to save par for what would be the most exciting hole of the day.

Nine was a par to end the round at 5 over par. Not the score Jordan and the coaches had hoped for.

Overall, the ball striking yesterday was very good. She lost all her points on her short shots, 80-120 yards, and obviously on the 2 three putts. Coach Carl is not worried and feels this a good warm up in preparation for next weeks Hurricane National Championship. After the round which ended at 2:30 B went to Orange Lake Resort where she practiced both by herself and with some oversight from Carl until dark. She is ready for today. Her T time will be at 8:06 and it should all be live. Yesterday the girl scoring for her was “technically challenged” and refused to enter Jordan’s score live. We got no less then 25 texts asking us if B was still playing or something had happened for those who tried to follow. Thank you for all of the concern.

Thats all for now. Thank you for following and all of the enthusiasm.

Jordan enters the morning fog on the way to warm up

B putting on the right with coach Carl checking the alignment behind her. All course pics were taken by Aunt Sara. A big thank you for that. Yirong will be back to his role as Team TyrannosaurusB photographer next week for the National Championship and we expect some great shots.

Impatiently waiting to T off

On the green waiting for her playing mate to finish so she could replace the flag

Jordan’s amazingly proud Gramma Jerie got to watch Jordan compete for the first time. B was extremely grateful to have her there.

Jordan and her grandfather Selwyn at Thanksgiving. We did not get any shots yesterday on the golf course but he walked the entire round following the tournament yesterday as well.
