Jordan is forced to withdraw from Bethpage this weekend as she recovers from her first bout of Covid. (Click for pictures and videos).

She had a really great run of avoiding it these last two and three quarter years but finally it got her this past weekend and she has spent the week quarantining and getting over it. She actually gets to emerge from isolation tomorrow, and if her coaches and parents would allow it she would be on the T as planned but alas, clearer heads prevailed.

This was to be Jordan’s last tournament for a while as she will go to Illinois on Monday to spend the week working with Carl Rabito. As we have discussed in past blogs, Carl feels that B’s release point is actually slightly early and getting it right can result in significant extra yardage on her shots. To fix it though will require taking her swing apart and rebuilding it. Jordan will return to Orlando on October 18th where they will continue the process. It is a very onerous task requiring painstaking adjustments to overcome what have become ingrained techniques. This time has been carefully carved out and Jordan’s next tournament is not scheduled until The Hurricane National Championship Invitational December 3rd & 4th. Carl feels he is going to need every bit of this time to first take her apart then “Put Humpty Dumpty back together again,” as Jordan’s dad likes to say whenever they have one of these re-construction periods. In the past 12 months, B has played a total of 29 tournaments ranging from 36 holes to 72 holes.

That’s all for now. We are posting today only by request as many have inquired about where and what she is up to. Hope this explains all. As always, a big thank you to everyone who is investing your time and energy to keep up with Jordan’s Journey. It means a lot to her and all of us.

The above video is extremely technical and will bore all but the most serious golfers to sleep but it is the essence of what Jordan will fix over the next few months.

More work on the swing
This is a video of tenacity. Last Sunday it got dark but Jordan had not yet completed her putting drill. Her solution was to use the flashlight on her phone as she refused to quit. Note the firefly in the foreground who was also captivated by her determination.

AND FINALLY, one more out-take from the filming of Jordan’s swing videos for college coaches. We are nominating Coach CC for an Oscar.
