Car all packed up for the journey home after the round. Big storms are threatening around 11 so it will be an interesting day. Jordan is excited to compete today and there is actually a huge prize at stake. The AJGA tournaments are very hard to get into and they use a system called “performance stars.” You earn them by placing high on the leaderboard and the higher you are, the more you get. Each tournament when the kids apply gets filled by the number of stars that you have earned. Jordan picked up a good amount of stars this season but the “Holy Grail” if you will or the golden ticket is something called “Exempt Status,” and this is bestowed upon the winner of an AJGA OPEN. Sometimes, depending on how competitive a tournament is they award more then one of these and this tournament the top 3 finishers get it. Jordan has never before been in range for this but right now only three strokes separate her from 3rd place. Achieving this would be a really big deal as she could then select her 5 tournaments next year rather then Super Mom having to crisscross the country to go to those tournaments where she had enough stars to get into. Anyway, a number of people have recently asked how this all works so we thought we would explain it.
