After two days of practice rounds The AJGA UHY Junior Open at Albany will kick off today. Jordan will take her first swing at 11:10 from hole 1. (Click for pictures and more).

After two grueling days with Carl in NY the crew once again packed up the car and headed to Albany early on Monday morning for the two and half hour drive where Jordan returned to the scene of the crime for a redo of the only tournament she has ever been forced to withdraw from. Last year during the practice round at this very tournament she was hit in the foot with a line drive from a boy that caused massive bruising and swelling to her foot and forced a trip to the emergency room for X-rays and a trip to the orthopedist.

She survived both practice rounds this week, though yesterdays rain and lightning storm did make the round over 6 hours long because of a stoppage. Both rounds were about where she would have wanted them with all of the chaos that goes into these things. She said she was +3 on Monday and +1 yesterday going -2 on the final 9. Her learning curve is steep and she and Carl are working hard so that Jordan can learn to how to “fix” herself after a bad shot. (No easy task for any golfer at this level). Super Mom said that she witnessed B doing that very thing yesterday and it should be the start of something good.

Jordan will t off at 11:10 and this promises to be a very competitive tournament. It is the last 54 one for a while as the players all return to school over the next few weeks. This will be Jordan’s 5th (IF you can qualify, the AJGA only allows you to play a maximum of 5 tournaments per year) and final AJGA of the 2022 season. The first four that she played were Junior All Stars where the maximum age is 15. This one is an Open so the girls are up to 18.

Thats all for now. Thank you for all of the encouragement for the B. We will return tonight for a recap.

Super Mom snuck these in while Jordan was putting yesterday before the rain.
