The AJGA is the tour that all junior golfers want to play on though only 11% of them ever have the opportunity. In the last olympics, 44 medalists were former AJGA tour players. Each year, golfers apply to play these events and to get in you have to have achieved a certain amount of what they call performance stars which you earn based on how you do during tournament play. The better you are, the better your chances of being selected to play. Regardless, the maximum number that one can play is five per year, plus invitationals that you can qualify for by winning or finishing at the top.
Today Jordan shot a +2 to finish the AJGA Junior All Star at York in solo 5th place. This was her first top five finish in AJGA competition. 36 girls made up the roster for this weeks tournament. They came from Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New York, California, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Alabama, Ohio, Indiana, Rhode Island, Arizona, and Washington. In addition, there were players from the countries of Canada, Chili, and China. If you get accepted to play an AJGA, you show up. After day two, Ten of these strong and courageous athlete were cut leaving only 26 for today’s final round.
B finished Monday’s round at +4 in tenth place. Yesterday, she shot -2 to climb back up to 7th. Today’s +2 was made up simply of 5 bogeys, 10 pars and 3 🐥’s. The conditions were absolutely brutal in York. Temperatures were almost 100 degrees with the real feel at 103. She and Super Mom each drank 8 bottles of water. The air was super heavy and balls did not like to fly in the thick air but Joran slogged her way through to achieve this career milestone of her very first AJGA top five finish. She shot 76-70-74 (+4) for the entire three day 54 hole tournament against some very talented 15 year old girls.
After play concluded Julie and the B drove 6 hours to Toledo Ohio where they are spending the night and getting some rest. In the morning they will drive the final 4 hours to Bollingbrook Illinois where her adopted big sister Sarah Zheng will take her for breakfast before Jordan meets up at noon for the afternoon with Carl to smooth some rough edges and kick a few bad habits that she has picked up since Carl last came to see her at the very beginning of the month. They will continue on Saturday and then drive the two hours down to Urbana where B will have practice rounds Sunday and Monday before Tuesday’s start to the AJGA Junior All Star at Urbana, another 3 day 54 hole tournament. The good news is that Yirong will be both at Bollingbrook and Urbana so the chances of some truly spectacular photos is extremely high. Earn your money Yirong!!!
That’s all for now. We will leave you with all of the media the editorial staff received from these five days. Don’t shoot the messenger. Thank’s everyone for the comments and texts, emails and voicemails. We are grateful for all.

Another well earned fabulous finish.
You continue to amaze. Have a safe journey with Mom as you travel onto your next game. Stay cool❤️
