The B was not leaving Gainsville today without making her mark on this tournament. After two less then great rounds Jordan shot a 74 today to tie for the low round of the day moving up 7 spots to finish in 12th place for the event. It took her a couple of rounds to figure it out, but today she did just that.
This morning was cold for Florida with a real feel temp of 36, exactly the same as Pound Ridge. It was windy and clouds filled the sky. Jordan got her instructions from Carl; “Just go out and play golf. Forget that it is a tournament, just play.” Everything about her game was different. She walked tall with a bit of extra spring in her step. She smiled and joked around. She was fun to watch and everyone took notice.
She started again on the 10th hole which she would par. same for 2. She bogeyed 3 and that would be the only one for the side. On 18 (her 9th hole) she birdied to end the first half at an even par. She only had 14 putts on the half.
On the front (her back) she bogeyed one, parred 2 & 3, birdied 4, bogeyed 5 & 6, parred 7. At that point she was only 2 over for the round with 2 holes to play. She had moved up to 9th place from 19th. On 8, a par three that gets launched from an elevated T box to fly over water to land on a raised green, B mis- hit the ball sending it into the side of the green and it would roll into the drink. This was her only bad shot of the day and it would cost her. She was forced to hit again from the drop zone, (would be counted as her 3rd shot) which she put on the green. She would two putt from there to card a double bogey and put her at plus 4 for the day. She would finish with a par and end in a tie for 12th place amongst a talented group of girls.
In the end, Jordan would hit every fairway except 2. She had a total of only 30 putts. She had one double bogey, four bogeys, 11 pars, and two 🐥’s. She had 5 one putts. Most of all, she had fun and it showed.
