When we started to write this blog we decided that we were always going to write the good, the bad, and the ugly. The idea was (and still is) to keep everyone who is interested up to date on how Jordan is progressing, to share the excitement, and the disappointment. Today unfortunately falls into the latter category. She came in ready to play, fresh off of her spectacular weekend in Palm Beach at the Honda but the result at the end of the day was not what she was looking for.
B started out just fine with pars on one and two. Hole number three, a par 5 is where the trouble began. Jordan started with a nice long drive straight down the middle. The second shot went longer then she had expected and landed in a fairway bunker to the left. She got beautifully out of the sand box landing on the green but the ball did not hold and rolled backwards into a green-side bunker. She then chunked shot number 4, staying in the bunker. Shot number 5 was hit too hard, coming out of the bunker and rolling past the hole, off the green, and into yet another sand trap (3rd one of the hole). Her 6th shot was out of the bunk and onto the green but 20 feet from the pin. She then 2 putted for a triple bogey.
Next, she double bogeyed 4 putting her at plus 5 through 4. She would par 5 & 6 then bogey 7 putting her at plus 6. 8,9,10, & 11 would all be pars. On 12, there was more trouble in the sand where Jordan would again triple the hole bringing her to plus 9. She would bounce right back from that with a 🐥 on 13. From there she went on to double 14. 15 was a par, 16 a bogey. 17 a par, then she finished with a double on 18 to end the day at +13, 83 (it is a par 70 course). This would be Jordan’s highest scoring round in competition since July 26th when she shot an 87 during the AJGA Junior at Toftrees.
When the card was finally turned in, Jordan shot 2 triple bogeys, 3 double bogeys, 2 bogeys, 10 pars, and 1 birdie. The interesting part of the day was that she really did have some quality shots on the day but the sand from which she usually excels turned out to be her nemesis.
When her father drove out of the parking lot this afternoon, he could only see the top of Jordan’s head as it stuck out of the sand trap which she and Carl had moved into for the remainder of the daylight hours. Tomorrow is day 2 of the tournament and there is lots of golf left to play. Twelve strokes separate Jordan from the person in first place and with two thirds of the tournament still to be played she has a plenty of time to move up. T times for tomorrow are yet to be released.

Thank you everyone. Thats all we have for now. Leaderboard seems to be updated sporadically throughout the round.
Chin up! That’s why they play 3 rounds…go get ’em!

The best part of todays blog was seeing a smile on your face standing by your biggest fan…your Dad.
Here’s my thought on today. Have fun out there tomorrow. 🤗

It feels like JBL was just giving a few competitors a little slack today. I bet she picks up the pace over the next few days.
