JORDAN LEADS THE JUNIOR HONDA CLASSIC AFTER THE FIRST ROUND. (CLICK FOR MORE)

The day did not start easy for the B. She bogeyed one and two and very quickly found herself in ninth place. Three, Four, and Five were pars, then six and seven were two more bogeys. Eight and nine were pars to finish the front at a plus 4. Nothing was going as planned. Chips were either too short or too long. Putts were missing by inches. Only thing woking perfectly well were the drives. Jordan would hit all drives that were not par 3’s into the fairway, a rare feat. Straight, long, and true.

The back, was a totally different game. After a bogey on 10, Jordan would light up the field with only one more bogey and two birdies on the side to finish the back at an even par. By the 14th hole, Jordan had moved into a tie for 5th place and was 5 strokes behind the leader. Slowly, the the field started to faulter, and Jordan kept grinding. Chips were crispy, putts fell, but the highlight of the day…Maybe the highlight of Jordan’s young competitive golf career would come on the 18th hole…..

The 18th at PGA National Palmer course is a long par five with lots of trouble to get into. Plenty of sand and water and it doglegs. B opened with a drive the was a perfect fade over the water and around a tree to land exactly where she wanted. Her second shot put her 100 yards from the pin. She made a gorgeous chip that unfortunately would fly directly over the pin and into a deep sand trap that was directly behind the flag. At this point she was in a tie for second place, one stroke out of the lead. With all eyes on her, Jordan got down into the sand, lined up, and holed out for birdie and the solo tournament lead. Very exciting ending for those in attendance.

A big thank you to Allen & David as well as Ed & Claire for being there to cheer her on. As of now, no T times have been posted for tomorrow. We will post them when they are released. Tomorrow, Allen will be back for round 2. In addition, Mom and Matt & Jodi Seigel will also be in attendance. Carl and dad will wait with baited breath from Orlando for the updates like the rest of you!

Thanks all for the support once again. We love the texts! Thats all for now. Will post T time soon.
