Jordan closes out the Metropolitan Jr. PGA tournament at Eisenhower Park with a plus 5 to finish in 5th place.

Today was a better day for Jordan shooting a 77. Jerry in person and Carl via video together helped Jordan correct the problem that she had yesterday with her driver this morning at Rockrimmon before the tournament. She hit 16 of 18 greens paring all of the par 3s. She had one birdie, 12 pars, 4 bogeys, and one double. B had zero 3 putts today. All of her trouble came on her approach shots.

After the first 8 holes Jordan was only 2 over. On the 9th hole, with the wind howling at 18 knots, she had a 92 yard approach shot into the green with the wind behind her. The gap wedge was her choice into the the raised green which should have been just right….then the wind got ahold of it landing it on the backside and ricocheting it 30 yards past and down the hill under a tree. With a canopy of trees above, and bunkers all around there were no great choices. Jordan had a beautiful swing that would have landed perfectly on the green next to the flag but instead was swatted out of the sky by a tree branch. She made a great second chip up, her 4th shot, then two putted for her only double bogey of the day.

Jordan made a par on the 16th hole (a par 4) the hard way with a chip in from 4 feet off the green. The one birdie, on 12, was a 50 foot putt. Unfortunately, according to her, she missed 5 birdie putts that could have put her in contention for the tournament. She shot a one over on the back 9.

Overall, a great effort after a 6 week layoff from tournament play. Next Tournament is a week from Saturday at Bethpage. Tomorrow, Jordan heads down to Orlando with her mom for 10 days of training with Carl Rabito at Orange County National.

Practice at Rockrimmon
The rain was crazy when Jordan was warming up at Eisenhower. Luckily, though it was predicted to rain all day, it held off for the entire round.
