SAN MARCO TEXAS. Tomorrow Jordan will play the first round of the Jim West Challenge with a shotgun T off of 14 at 9:30 Central time.

As usual we need to close up B’s last tournament before we can start the next and happily ND Sports writers again took care of it for us.

Jordan ended the tournament in 13th place besting 60 of 73 players shooting 77-72-75. Midway through the 3rd round she got as high as 3rd place on the leaderboard before she had a little trouble with the very thick rough in Kansas. Her fitness and strength training is both a blessing and a curse since arriving at Notre Dame as she is hitting the ball farther then she ever has before and so it is rolling into the rough. She will sort this out of course and emerge better for it. In the end another very strong finish in the top 15.

B and her team came back from Kansas last Monday and had a week off from competition. Last weekend SuperMom, SuperSupportive Sister Lyla and dad went to South Bend and enjoyed a family weekend with the B including a very exciting Notre Dame Football game.

On Tuesday the first rankings of the season were released for College Golf. Of the 2,256 Division One women golfers currently playing Jordan’s first published ranking is 151. She is in the top 7%. For first years (freshman) she is #27 and NO, we don’t know how many ranked players are freshman.

SuperMom arrived in San Marco Last night after her harrowing journey on SouthWest Airlines from Orlando into San Antonio then a hour and a bit drive to San Marco. The team? Well they flew on a Phenom 300 and went direct in 2:30 into San Marco airport 5 minutes from the hotel. Good to be the king…

ND Women’s Golf ride to San Marco…same way they came home from Kansas last week.

This tournament is a big one with 14 teams and 78 players. It will be televised for those who want to watch it beginning with the second round tomorrow at 2:30 and on Monday at 9am on ESPN PLUS.
