The AJGA had this one right it seems when they wrote about “Players to Watch” in this tournament. They featured Mi Li and Jordan Levitt who go into tomorrow’s final round as co-leaders of the tournament after the first 36 holes. Both of them shot even par yesterday and both of them shot +1 today. They are by no means all alone as there is a player one stroke behind at +2, another at +3, another at +4 and four additional tied at +5. That means that there are 7 players within four strokes of the leaders. Any one of these 9, a full third of the field are still in contention for Championship.

What changed between yesterday and today? Pin placement. The holes today were very hard to reach. Jordan was constantly having to make 20 and 30 foot putts making birdies very very difficult. It was almost impossible to land the ball anywhere near the pin on the approach shots. Conditions remained brutal with temps in the high 90’s and this course has NO shade anywhere. Nobody hit any trees because there were no trees to hit.

Jordan started on 10 this morning dunking her second shot in the drink. After she told dad, “That was not the ball I was supposed to play with today.” She ended up with a bogey on the hole and that was actually quite a solid result. She parred 11 & 12, 🐥13 and parred the rest of the side ending the first 9 at even.
On the second 9, hole 1 was a bogey, and B’s only 3 putt on the day. It was a bit strange as the putt was from 3 feet. It hit the rim and kind of spun out. It looked like the hole choked on her ball and simply spit it out refusing to swallow it. She parred 2, and on 3, the number one handicap hole on the course (That means it is considered the hardest for those non-golfers) a par five called “Strato-Launch” she made a beautiful 10 foot putt straight uphill for 🐥. She parred 4, bogeyed 5, then went straight pars the rest of the way. Putting was significantly better then yesterday but the course simply played much harder with the pin placements. If she putted yesterday like she did today and the pins were in the same spots they were yesterday, she would have shot -5. Anyway, the result today was just fine as she remains tied for the lead with 18 still to go tomorrow. T time will at 8:50am and they will play off of 1. She will be playing alongside Mi Li, an extremely talented and accomplished player. It is going to be super exciting to watch.

Waiting for the elevator this morning.

A picture of the outfit for Allen. Truly, the only time she lets dad take a pic is when it is for him, her adopted golf grandfather.

On the putt

Perfectly captured the body language of the near miss putt…yeah, dad giving himself a compliment
