Jordan and dad drove across the Everglades on Saturday afternoon to Punta Gorda so Jordan could play her first practice round on Sunday morning at Aileron Golf Course for the AJGA Punta Gorda Junior Open that will be contested over three days and 54 holes in the blazing late May Florida sun. Temps yesterday were right around 100 and Jordan walked the course to get the feel for it.
Saturday night was a great dinner at a spot called Winsett House before early to bed. Sunday morning B went to a yoga class then played her practice round. In the afternoon Jordan’s buddy Gaby came from Naples to spend the afternoon with Jordan then the two of them along with dad had dinner at a French restaurant called The Perfect Caper. Another good nights sleep, a nice breakfast at the room cooked by Jordan, then a 1:30 shotgun in the miserable heat. The original plan of going out for dinner was squashed as the exhaustion took over. Takeout from a local Italian spot did the trick before another early night as Jordan’s T time is at 8:20 tomorrow morning off of hole one. Jordan will leave for the venue at 6:40.
