B’s Day One Scorecard

Four bogeys, thirteen pars, and one 🐥. That was the round. Highlights of the day include a “Swimming-Par” on hole two. Jordan hit her ball into the water on the second shot of number 2, a par 5 and still made par on the hole with a brilliant one putt. The other highlight of course was the single 🐥on 17, a par three that she drove to 5 feet to one putt. When dad saw her this evening after the round (SuperMom and dad switched it up this evening so dad could watch tomorrow and Sunday) and asked, “How was your round today?” the simple answer from B was, “I played ok, I just needed more birdies.” A simple answer, but nonetheless true. No big blow ups, no 3 putts, nothing weird, just not enough birdies. As Coach Carl likes to say, “The bogeys are inevitable when you are playing tournament golf, but you need to make the birdies to go low.”

This field is as competitive as advertised. Two strokes worse than Jordan is the current projected cut line. Two strokes better puts you in the top five. B is only six strokes off the leader with 36 holes still to play.. With the field this close you can’t rule anyone out at this point. Tomorrow’s T time for Jordan is 8:10 off of hole number 10. With the heat getting into the 90’s in the afternoon she could not ask for a better spot. She will leave the house at 6:25 to begin her warm up process.

Today SuperMom had Debbie and Brian Taub come out to walk with her and cheer Jordan on. A big thank you to both of them. The last time they came to watch her was right at the beginning, January 2021 at Sandlebrook Resort where they saw her shoot 100. Lots of swings since then…but love our times with Brian and Debbie.
