Lots to talk about and a bit to explain. This is the time of the year when Coach Carl makes a final push, changes stuff up, tries new things and new equipment, and breaks Jordan down before putting her back together better and stronger before she goes into qualifier season. By way of example, Jordan is breaking in a new driver, was fitted for new irons and wedges this week, and has found the few millimeters of her release that Carl has been looking for for the the better part of 18 months….and it all got tried out during this tournament. To quote SuperMom, “She has this new superpower and she is not sure what to do with it yet. She is slamming everything….Far”. The problem was that it extended to her putts. She had one 🐥 and three bogeys on the first nine. All three bogeys were 3 putts and all were within 3 feet of the cup! She said, “Dad, I missed two from 2.5 feet!”
There was pure magic on the back as she had a drive that measured every bit of 300 yards, and had one drive on a dogleg that she was confident enough to successfully cut the corner and go over the trees. She had an additional 4 🐥’s on the back nine for a total of 5 on the day. In the end, she shot 82-72 for the tournament but came through with a solid 6th place finish and a lot of confidence in her new skills. Overall, a great weekend for the B and according to Coach Carl, “Exactly according to plan.”
Next stop on the spring tour is Hot Springs Arkansas for the MIZUNO JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP April 10th -April 13th where again SuperMom will be by her side cheering her on. This is another AJGA event and promises to be super competitive.
That’s all for now. Again, a big thank you for all of the wonderful and unwavering support for Jordan. She is super grateful as are we all.
happy to be hearing about Jordan again. Good stuff
