SuperMom and Jordan arrived in Texas on Friday to unseasonably cold and windy conditions in Dallas for the Kathy Whitworth Invitational. With all of Julie’s incredible organizational efforts, the one item that she forgot was wool hats and the temperature was 38 degrees. Want to know what is really hard to find in Texas in March?……Winter hats. After an exhaustive search the only available ones with the fleece lining (You need that for the long hair we were told, not so important to those of us who are folic-ally challenged) were Dallas Cowboy branded ones.
So, a big shout out to Kim and John Schleef both big fans of that team and that city. John you may remember created Jordan’s Tyrannosaurs B logo and Kim never misses a chance to write something beautiful to Jordan on this blog. We are grateful for their friendship and their love. Kim recently lost her dad, “Scrappy” who lived in Dallas and if he was still around probably would have joined SuperMom for the tournament. We dedicate this weeks blog to his memory.

Upon arrival in Dallas, the procedure is for SuperMom to go and get the rental car while B corrals the luggage then lugs it to the curb.

After checking into the hotel on Friday and buying the hats at the mall they grabbed a bite of dinner and went to sleep. Saturday’s practice round was again another episode from “Survivor, Golf Edition” with winds at 15 MPH gusting to 30. Coach Carl called it off from afar halfway through. Friday night was a great dinner at a spot called True Food Kitchen that they loved so much they went back to on Sunday night for another meal.

Sunday Brunch was an epic feast at a spot called Egg Posh. Presentation looks epic.

NOW, a quick word from B’s indirect sponsor….A big thank you to Madeline Brown at NewEdge

Yesterday afternoon was the Pro-Am where the players enjoyed a round with the tournament sponsors. In each foursome were two sponsors and two players. Jordan’s group had one former professional Long Drive champion and bloke who was trying to do the same. B said that they and the other girl she was paired up with were all delightful and she got to see and play the course once again. At the end of the day, In and Out Burger, one of the tournament sponsors, set up a truck to feed the players.

A big thank you to SuperMom for all of the great images she sent in. With all that goes on at these tournaments it takes real effort to do so.

That’s all for now. Thank you for following and supporting Jordan. Be back tonight with the results of the day.

John’s incredible work
What a beautiful Blog Marc and great pictures from Super Mom- I was so sorry to hear about the loss of “Scrappy” Kim’s Dad. Such a special family. The hat story was amazing. And Jordan we had lots of information all about what you ate and what you did and now I am looking forward to the rest of how it goes for you – good luck – grandma jerie >

Good luck to Jordan (and SuperMom)! And thank you so much for this wonderful memory of Pappy! He would have 100% been right beside Julie, walking the entire course, cheering the loudest for Jordan at every turn, every drive, every putt. You’re sweet to dedicate this one to him. John and I were just in Dallas….we left on Friday (same day they flew in!) to drive some family heirlooms back to CT (yes…seriously. OY!). Hope the Texas air brings great luck to Jordan!
