Jordan is 3 strokes off of the lead after the first round at the AJGA Golf Performance Center Junior Championship at Salem.

Salem (Pirated off of their website for lack of original content).

B came out swinging like a prizefighter this morning picking up right where she left off last week in Hartford parring 1, 🐥ing 2, 🐥ing 3, and parring 4 before the adrenaline would wear off and she would come back down to earth with a bogey on 5. 6,7, and 8 were pars and 9 a bogey bringing her to even on the front. The back was more difficult for Jordan. Ten was a par, 11 a bogey, 12 a par, 13 a bogey, 14 & 15 par, 16 a bogey, then finishing with 2 more pars bringing her to +3 on the back and +3 for the round.

This is not an easy golf course. Jerry emailed Coach Carl and dad after the round and said the following, “Course played extremely hard. Wind adversely impacted shots. Greens were inconsistent and hard to read.” This was from a man who spent the better part of 40 years as a head pro so if this was his take, it was accurate.

Two more rounds still to play in this one and there is a ton of talent here as there always is if it is an AJGA. 143 girls applied for the 36 available positions in this tournament. Of those who took the T this morning only 21 will make the cut after tomorrow for Thursday’s final round.

Another photo being used without the permission of the photographer (as we have no clue who it was, but great job whoever you are and thank you).

After the round Jordan had lunch at Salem with SuperMom and Coach Jerry before returning to Rockrimmon where she spent a couple of hours working through the areas she felt she needed to polish up. SuperMom joined her and ran interference to help B stay focused. A debrief and pregame planning for tomorrow with Coach Carl Rabito from Illinois followed by an early dinner and early to bed as Jordan’s T time is 8:20 that necessitates a 5:45 wake up call.

That’s all for now. Thank you for the emails, calls, and texts today. They make us all smile.
