CHAMPION!..and Runner up. Jordan wins the 18 and under NY State Woman’s Am and is runner up to the NY State Woman’s am overall. (Click for pics and an explanation)

Ok, this one needs some explaining. There were actually two concurrent tournaments being played this week in Skaneateles. First was the NY State Woman’s Am, and second was the 18 and under NY Woman’s Am. The latter tournament was a Junior Golf Scoreboard sanctioned and recorded tournament. There were actually two concurrent live leaderboards in play. One for each tournament. Jordan was the runner up to the former losing by 5 strokes to a 40 year old 7 time US Woman’s Am participant from Jupiter Florida who was there with her professional caddy (yeah, this blogger was a bit annoyed by her presence but she was legal so hats off to her. She shot a lights out 66 in the opening round and B could not catch her. Never forget how terribly biased the writer is). On the 18 and under tournament, Jordan DOMINATED winning by 10 strokes.

If this was very confusing for you don’t think you are the only one. Neither SuperMom or Jordan even knew about the fact that there were two tournaments. Important for B, she gets a first place finish on the Junior Golf Scoreboard that will go toward her overall ranking. Frustrating that she did not finish first overall as that would have gotten her into the US Woman’s Am. Anyway as we say on to the next. Great effort overall. A First Place Finish and a Runner up in the same tournament. That is a first. 🤔

Jordan with BOTH of her trophys. A First Place and a Runner up

As for the game, B shot a 73-75-73. Jordan made three mistakes over the tournament according to her account that she will not make again. Being only 4 years a competitive golfer has some disadvantages and that is one of them. This is a game where you need to make those mistakes and learn from them. She is on a parabolic trajectory but this stuff has to happen for her to get better. Qualifying season is officially over and Jordan has qualified for her first Major, The Junior PGA Championship at Congressional in Bethesda Maryland July 27th to August 2nd. Between now and then she will have some much needed downtime in Bedford and a couple of days with Coach Carl in Illinois next week to tune her up for the PGA.

For once we will not bore you with “how the sausage got made” but this tournament had all of the usual elements of this season; Thunderstorms and weather stoppages, wind and driving rain and delays. Second round from the first day did was completed at 7 am on day 2. Big shout out to SuperMom who was up yesterday at 4:00am to get TRexB ready for the match, pack the room and pack the car. She did not end her day until almost midnight when they arrived back in Bedford after the 5 hour drive which took place after the awards ceremony that did not end until almost 5:30. She is a warrior and without her Jordan’s dreams of playing at this level would remain just that, dreams.

5:39 am yesterday practicing bunker shots..that is dedication.

Does everyone get a trophy? Just kidding. There were 50 contestants.

That’s all for now. Next blog will be live from Congressional. A big thank you for all of the shoutouts. We apologize for not keeping everyone up to date over the past two days.
