B arrived in Illinois on Saturday morning and spent most of the day practicing with Coach Carl in Bolingbrook where he hangs his shingle for the summer. Saturday evening she had girl time with her good buddy Sarah Zheng (Z) then had a 10 hour sleep.
On Sunday she played a practice round at Heritage Oaks. Sunday night was dinner with the most of the Zheng tribe, Sarah, her BF Tyler, Yirong, and Iris (we missed you Matthew) then another long sleep before a second practice round on Monday. This one she was accompanied by three D1 college players who she proved she could comfortably keep up with.
After the practice round she would putt for over two hours, then went back to Bolingbrook for another two hours of practice. Note that none of this was mandated by CC or dad, this was what she chose to do. Dinner with Iris and Yirong was Hot Pot at the Miserable Goat (actually the restaurant is called “The Happy Lamb” but Miserable Goat fits better).
Today Jordan worked with CC from 10-3:30, most of the time in the rain. An early dinner with dad at Francesca’s Amici (amazing spot) and now she is fast asleep at 9pm.
Tomorrow T time is at 8:09 central time, 9:09 Eastern off of the 10th T Box. Z is going to be on the bag to assist Jordan and that should be great for her. As she is a long time disciple of Coach Carl she will clearly understand B’s swing and what she is trying to do. If it is a rainy windy day having someone of Sarah’s skill and experience level by her side to discuss strategy and club selection could prove to be invaluable. Jordan is extremely grateful that Z is going to do this for her. In the gallery following all the action will be dad.
This is a “One and Done” tournament. 18 holes, 78 players fighting for 3 spots. That’s it. Top 3 go to Tulsa, everyone else goes home. As long as you are not a professional, and you have a handicap of 2.4 or better, you are eligible to enter a qualifier. No age restrictions. The majority of the field will be made up of the top College golfers from both the USA and the rest of the world plus those trying to earn their Q cards to get onto the tour. The competition level should be very high and they are playing long, 6,200 yards to be precise. Currently we can’t find any link to the live leaderboard that we are confident will exist. We will post it if we can find it in the morning before the tournament.
After the round B will fly back to NY for 3 nights in her own bed, a day at her Internship at NewEdge Wealth, then Saturday back on the road where SuperMom will take her North for the NY State Woman’s Am…more on that over the weekend…one tournament at a time.
That’s all for now. Thank you for all of the support for Jordan. ☘️
