Jordan holds on to the lead on day two of the Advent Health Orlando Jr. Open.

Today was much more difficult than yesterday. There was standing water all over the fairways and the fringes of the greens and balls skipped across the green like smooth stones do on a pond. It was extremely hard to judge speed on the putting as current saturation levels would make the ball either go too long or too short and it changed on a dime with the velocity of the rainfall. Winds were gusting at over 25 miles per hour and the temperatures were 10-15 degrees less today than yesterday. Staying warm and dry was definitely a challenge.

In the end Jordan carded a 77 (+5) on the day bringing her tournament total to +1. The girl in second place is at +5, four strokes behind. Scores today were extremely high with most players adding 7 or more strokes. A full 10% of the field dropped out as of the end of day 2.

Leaderboard at the end of day 2.

Jordan had 1 double bogey, 4 bogeys, 12 pars, and 1🐥. She had a single three putt on 16, the hole that she doubled. She made the right decision on 15 today and layed up. She came very close to getting the bird. Putting today was again excellent. She did not miss anything today from inside of 5 feet. B kept her composure in what was an extremely frustrating round. She had to tune out the negativity as many of the players were complaining that play should have been suspended due to the weather. Tomorrow she will need to have tunnel vision to close this one out. The girl in second place is gunning for her as she is last years defending champion and she calls this course home. No doubt this gave her a major leg up today but as Jordan proved yesterday she can certainly beat her.

Today’s score card for B

That’s all for now. Jordan is ready for tomorrow where she will attempt to close this one out. She will play in the final group T’ing off at 12:57 from the first T. She and coach Carl spoke at length this evening where he reminded her that she is in exactly the spot she wanted to be in. It never feels good when your score is high but when you recognize that everyone’s score was high because of the conditions you need to accept it. She is four strokes ahead of second place and nine ahead of third. It has been a great tournament so far. Thank you for all of the great support. Jordan is 18 holes from the finish line.
