Great opening round for Jordan yesterday where she had two bogeys and three birdies at Championsgate. She kept the drama to a minimum as she hit all but one fairway and made 15 greens on the day with only a single three putt. In the car ride home when asked how she felt her round went B said, “I played mediocre. My chipping sucked.” As a spectator none of this was evident as her ball striking was nothing short of spectacular. There were 5 very long birdie putts that painted the edges of cups but that is golf. Jordan finished the round with a 55 footer for 🐥 to end in “RED NUMBERS” (this is what it is called when you shoot under par) on a course with a rating of 74.5 making her differential on the day -3.5. After the round she and Carl headed out to the chipping area and after 15 minutes Coach pronounced, “Chipping is fixed.”
Today Jordan will play with the final group and fight for the Championship. She came out yesterday and showed just how far her game has come in three short years. This tournament was the reason that she came to Florida in 2020 after earning a spot with her second place finish at a Hurricane NY Jr. Open where there were 4 contestants in the 13 and under division and she shot in the high 80’s. The day after Thanksgiving she took the Auto-train down to Orlando and she met Coach Carl. At the time she had a handicap of 11 and after two days with the new coach it was determined that she would not play the tournament. Now, her handicap is +4.8 (for those who don’t know and that includes most golfers, a plus means you are better then scratch which is a zero handicap) and she has earned her right to play in the final grouping.

Current Leaderboard.
That’s all for now. Thank you to all who follow and have taken this journey with Jordan. She has a very busy next few weeks and we will detail it in tonight’s closing blog.

B and Coach (Caddy) Carl Rabito headed to hole 1 after the 40 minute fog delay.
