Golfers often say, “I played much better than I scored,” and that is exactly what happened with Jordan today. Her driver was nothing less than perfect….truly, she hit every fairway and out drove her two playing partners on every single hole. Her irons were crisp and accurate, her putts simply refused to fall. Her card showed +5 after the 12th hole and nothing seemed to be improving when she flew the 4th hole (her 12th of the day as she started on 10) and landed behind a wooden fence behind the green. She had to hit the ball up blind and landed it on the green. It was an impossible shot that required absolute precision and she executed it flawlessly. She followed it up with a 10 foot putt to save par. Truly her best hole of the tournament, and that was what reminded her that “She can flat out play,” to quote Carl.

X marks the spot of where the ball had to be hit from on 4.
The next two holes, 5 & 6, both 🐥’s, 7,8, & 9 all pars. Though she did not finished this tournament where she had hoped, she accomplished a ton. Eight players in this field are in the ROLEX top 100. Jordan finished the tournament at 9 over for the three rounds. As this course had a rating of 75.2, her differential for the tournament was actually below zero. This is a bit complicated to explain so the easiest example we can give is to think about the 75.2 as the par for the course. The level of play in this tournament was about as hard as it could get and just competing in this one was something of an accomplishment. She learned a ton from it and it is a great start to what will only be her third full season playing competitive golf.
We had the pleasure of Rhea and Gary Krueger for the round and a great BBQ dinner that followed. Having friends share this journey with us makes it so much more fun. Thanks R&G for making the trip from Nashville.

Jordan is now back in Orlando, tired, but determined to keep improving. She returns to NY on Thursday for the summer. Her next event will be “The Lady Liberty Cup.” This is a Ryder Cup style event that is played between 6 of the top nationally ranked players from NY and 6 of the same from NJ. It is a fundraiser for an organization called “Minds Matter” and it will take place at Liberty National Golf Club next Saturday and Sunday. https://www.theladylibertycup.com/

That’s all for now. Thank you for all the comments, notes, texts, emails etc. We will bring you some highlights after next weekends event and hopefully SuperMom will take lots of pictures as she will accompany Jordan to this one.

Final words from Coach Carl before the round.

For anyone who thinks that Jordan travels light….

No, seriously.

And finally, for those looking to learn more about Alabama, this is what a temporary license plate looks like.
We love the updates and are cheering for you, not only for every tournament but for ALL the practice hours you are putting into this passion. Super proud of you, Jordan! And I just read about the Lady Liberty Cup….what an accomplishment to be a part of that, in just your 3rd summer of playing competitively! Wowzer! Go get ’em!
