It is hard to find the words to describe just how beautiful this golf course is. Abutting the Pacific Ocean, the views everywhere you look are nothing short of breathtaking.
Jordan arrived in San Diego on Friday night with her dad at around 7 in the evening. They rented a car and moved into their Air B&B, a beautiful condominium in a town called Solana Beach about 15 minutes north of Torrey Pines overlooking the ocean with the sound of the surf gently whispering through the open windows and slider doors.
On Saturday morning, Jordan registered for the tournament and had a chance to compete in the putting contest where she met two of the most beautiful little girls, 6 & 7 year old sisters from Japan who will also compete.

New Friends from Japan

Flags from all of the nations represented here surround the putting green.
This is truly an international tournament with representation from over 45 different countries and 32 states. Jordan’s age group, the highest, 15-18 year olds is 160 in total. They will all play the first 54 holes, only 40 will play the last 18. Last year the cut line after 3 days was +6. The winner came in at -7. This is not going to be a walk off for B. Many of the girls competing will be attending and playing Division 1 golf schools in the fall.
Jordan played practice rounds both yesterday and today with Coach Jerry by her side strategizing each and every hole. Yesterday B played with a 17 year old from New Delhi, India, and today two girls from Colorado, 16 & 17. Jordan shot a 74 (two over par) yesterday that included a chip in birdie and a double bogey. Today she shot 1 over and that was with plenty of extra strokes that Jerry instructed her to take to make sure she understood the speed of the greens and the to get the feel of the grass.
Jordan will start tomorrow at 12:35 Pacific Standard Time and T off from number 10. In her cheering section will be Jerry, Grampa Selwyn, Dad, and cousin Linda who will come in from LA tomorrow morning to see her second cousin do her thing.
