Jordan is not going to The Jr. PGA National Championship in August in Illinois. (Click for details)

The round today began with a double bogey on the first hole and would end with a score of 9 strokes over par. Combine that with the +3 from yesterday and she ended at plus 12 and a sixth place finish.

Though this blogger is terribly biased and freely admits it, we do try to tell all, the good, the bad, and the painful. More then one of Jordan’s followers has commented on this and said they appreciate it. If we can freely share the bad stuff, allow us to point out some good which there certainly was today. On the plus side, Jordan would card 13 pars in the round, the largest number in the tournament. In addition, her drives were some of the very longest she has hit. Today they measured 291, 295, and 302. To put those numbers into perspective, the average drive on the LPGA tour (Professional Tour Players) is 251 yards and those are full grown woman as compared to our 15 year old 5’ 2” 115 lb Tyrannosaurus B.

Jordan’s game is maturing, her technique is improving and her distances jump almost on a weekly basis as she makes better and better contact with the ball. This will make her have days like this where so much goes right but when she blows up a hole she does it properly. Basically she lost the tournament in three holes; two doubles and a triple.

Next on The B’s schedule is a practice round for the qualifier for The Northern Junior Open that takes place on Thursday at Whitney Farms Golf Course in Monroe CT.

Carl Rabito arrives in NY on Friday afternoon to fix a few things and tune Jordan up with some hard work sessions Friday afternoon and Saturday.

After that she plays a 36 hole tournament at Spook Rock in Suffern NY July 5-6 for the Met Jr. PGA Futures Series tour.

On Friday the 8th it is off to Torrey Pines in San Diego for the Junior World Championship. Jerry Yochum will again take the lead coaching position hand off from Carl as he will be on site in California with Jordan through both of her practice rounds, and the entire 72 hole tournament. Jerry is a very special person in Jordan’s life and never disappoints her when she asks him to be there for her. From New York to Pennsylvania, Florida to California Jerry is always there when B needs him and we are extremely grateful for all he has done and continues to do for her since he first identified her talent.

That’s all for now. Thank you for all of the awesome texts, emails, calls and comments.

The PGA photographer on site at the tournament today captured B in a rare smile during competition and posted it on their Instagram page.

  2. True champions win everyday in many ways as B has done with her tenacity and spirit. I admire her more today than yesterday and not as much as I will tomorrow.

  3. Sounds like a very busy month ahead of you. You are traveling all over the United States…Putting your golf balls in the holes of all different kinds of golf courses. I certainly do not know anyone who did that at your age. (or any age) So exciting when you think about it. You could not do this if you weren’t special. So focus on this. I do. love you Jordan darling, gramma jerie
