On Wednesday Jordan will play the qualifier for the 73rd Annual US Girls Junior Amateur Championship. (Click for more).

This was a week of practice and practice rounds for Jordan without a tournament. On Monday Julie took Jordan to Watchung Valley Golf Club in Watchung NJ to play her practice round for this weeks qualifier. As Darren is not back up north yet, Jordan went out with a local caddy to get a feeling for the course. She played from almost 6400 yards and carded a plus 4 (76) for the round including 3 three putts and 3 birdies.

Jordan said that the course was fairly straight forward but there were definitely things that she would do differently and was glad she made the trip. She would really like the opportunity to play the course again on Tuesday but the only way that can happen is if anyone happens to know a member there that would invite Jordan to play with them. Try as we might, we have been unable to find anyone. If anyone reading this happens to have that connection, please reach out to us. We have called on everyone we know and have come up empty. Darren will walk the course regardless before Wednesday so that he can make sure he is familiar. If Jordan qualifies this tournament is in Bowling Green Kentucky at The Club at Olde Stone July 18th thru the 23rd and will be televised on The Golf Channel on July 22nd. We will post the link to the leaderboard on Tuesday night. B’s T time is 1:50 off of the 10th hole. Darren will be on the bag and Dad is going to take the day off to follow.

This weeks schedule will be as follows: Monday she will take off. Tuesday she will go out with Darren for a round at Rockrimmon so that he can do a final check on her distances and they will loop Carl in via FaceTime if anything needs tweaking. Wednesday is the qualifier for the US Girls Jr. Amateur in NJ (we do not yet know how many spots are being contested). Thursday and Friday will be practice at The Rock. On Saturday, Super Mom and the B head to Boardman Ohio where Jordan will play the AJGA Mercy Health Foundation Junior All-star. It is a 54 hole tournament. The schedule is quite interesting. Sunday is the qualifier that Jordan has signed up to play as an extra practice round. She is already in the tournament, but will still play the qualifier round (she can’t lose her spot no matter how she plays, but she can earn a performance AJGA star if she does well). Monday is the official practice round. Tuesday the first round is between 7-11. There will be a short break, then in the afternoon the second round of 18 holes will take place. Wednesday, they play the final 18 holes in the morning. Following the award ceremony (Yes, we are being optimistic and hoping there is a reason to stay 😉) Mom’s Uber service will bring them home for the the 6.5 hour drive back to Pound Ridge.

That should bring everyone up to date. We apologize for not updating earlier. We have had 50 plus people checking the blog yesterday and today trying to see where she was playing this weekend. We will try to do better in the future. A big thank you from Jordan for all of the Congratulations from last weeks victory at Bethpage.
